Spatial scanner with better funcionality

Spatial scanner is on the edge of usefull/useless due to the price and what it actually gives. getting used to it takes some time, to some its impossible. i dont have such problem… however, to add a bit more feature ot it, not just general direction of any pickable object and threats, perhaps some additional options, like scan range, filters to pick up only crate/asteroid/fuel signals.

now all signals are together and in some cases it gets so mixed up, that it sends you in totaly wrong direction.

taking in account that it takes valuable cpu slot, where normal sensor should be. for one cpu slot ship, this is a huge trade off, it meang being semi blind, you detect enemy when its already too late.

anyway, my point, give spatials a little bit more features

thank you for reading my suggestion

I will reserve this post to fully explain modification of this module a bit later.

I agree it needs to be re-designed and improved a lot, especially because of extremely high price. I would need to be “motivated to invest 14000GS in all 3 of them”.

I also suggest the following. Spatial Scanner is moved to the Workshop section, where it could be learned, once you buy it.

You can re-craft/duplicate it, with a lot of materials, monocrystals and credits.

This means that you can buy each spatial scanner mandatory only one time. This will prove that P2W model is not an option only, but there could be better alternatives as well.

Of course, if you don’t want to assemble it the 2nd time, you can just re-buy it, but at least you have an option, a choice.

To prevent abuse and stacking of this spatial scanner for use in PVP and PVE modes, it should be only allow to equip one per ship. The rest of the slots would be greyed out on other equipment slots.

Spatial Scanner needs to have statistics of mark IV enhanced scanner, mark IV infrared scanner merged together.

However, Spatial Scanner should count as mark V equipment for CPU, since you can learn it and re-produce it.

Sensor limit should range should be increased as well. Improved detection techique should be available.

Scan option would be available from high distance as well. Once the item or container is scanned, the scanner remembers it’s contents and marks it appropriately with the name of the loot content.

It should be done in normal way as well, even without that scanner, if you jettison content. This is the most fundamental and essential thing we need right now as well.

Edit: will add more content later

No it doesn’t. No matter how expensive you make it. Spatial Scanner was designed as an Invasion tool to make looting easier. If you’re going to buff it it should be a buff that makes it easier to loot. Spatial Scanner is not a fighting module.

^ this.

I did a suggestion of what’s missing to Spacial scanner and they said they’ll look at it.

Btw, they also said they are going to buff Spacial scanner.

Spacial scanner need to be a tier-free item like craftable missiles.

It also musn’t be a PvP item.

Spacial scanner is designed to be only for invasion to increase incomes and help slow/low range ships.

The only thing Spacial scanner need is providing much more informations and be automatic.

You take something with less than 8k range in invasion?  I have 10k range on my Archdragon just to scout.

I find the Spacial Scanner to be of low use, it is poorly designed, it would be an improved module, if it did not highlight fuel, just actual loot.

How about it being always on too ? (or to be able to toggle it either “On” or “Off” ?)

If we have paid for it in real-life money, how about it being actually functional ? (It could have different colours highlighted in the onscreen effect surrounding your ship,  for different basic types of loot… materials, cash, fuel etc etc…)

Or simply give us an option to upgrade our mk 4 sensor module to Spatial scanner in exchange of lots of mats and monocrystals.

You farm, you buy better farming tool, you farm faster and in few weeks it pays off for itself and starts to gain profit.

To be honest: you dont get the idea of the scanner!

It is meant as a help for looting in invasion and if used correctly guiding player to the most valuable loot.

It does not require rework.

(I dont meant to be offense, just wanted to state this as clear as possible)

It don’t need re-work, yes. But it still need a buff of his “find a loot” capacity. Most of the loots are static. Once you know their location, Spacial scanner give you nothing. And for the non-static loots, they come from pirate ships. When you destroy a pirate ship, you are already close enough to know where the loot is.

You’ll prefer an enhanced scanner for sensor range over Spacial scanner. Because the first one is free, automatic, and more precise.

A T5 spatial scanner costs more than a T5 premium this weekend.  Does it really seem accurately priced?

Guess again, but hey, you don’t have to buy it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Perhaps if they had a tutorial on how to use the Spatial Scanner…

That is your opinion, not mine, nor, by looking over this thread, the opinion of many that have bought the Spatial Scanner.

The item is not useful, it is not an item I would reccommend, and it is most certainly not worth teh real life cash I paid for it (them). THAT is my opinion.

Your opionion is no more valid than any other given here.

well, the loot points of most valuable loot changes time to time so the scanner helps a lot.

For sure, everyone should have his own opinion.

You dont have to follow my advise.

In fact, you can’t loot those T5 and pirate blueprints if you don’t have the Scanner equipped. They won’t even spawn in the map for you.

But just a colorized circle might be a little bit unclear, especially if nowhere is signed how that thing works, just improve the ‘item-finder’ mechanics to make it more comfortable, that’s all. Everyone would like it more then, and of course, decrease the costs of that beauty.

Wait, what? Come again?

I think you made a typo…

they spawn for everyone besides having the scanner.

The Scanner works at a 98% accuracy in all dimension - so its fine.

The scanner is nice for those people who don’t memorize where loot is - in other words, people who don’t farm much. But, y’know, if you’re going to buy the spatial scanner, you’ll probably want to farm more. Kind of a catch-22, there.

I personally don’t have a spatial scanner, since I already know where the loot I want to find spawns. But I think it ought to just show the loot on your radar, period, rather than have a colourized circle showing you roughly where it is.

I was told that it wouldn’t spawn if you didn’t have the scanner. In fact 'till I started using it I never ever saw one of them.

And then the first day using it:

But it’s good to know that they spawn for everyone. It wouldn’t be fair if it didn’t.
