Skill rating

Skill rating (or DSR what it was called for my time) is only an indication on how good/lucky you are at avoiding being killed and good/lucky killing others. The name should be changed to Death/Kill rating.

I don’t think it is possible in this game to measure skill in one number. But it might be good to add another number to the pilot stats that measures somewhat the contribution of each match leaving out how many times you died, it is similar to efficiency but takes into account what ship role/class you played.

But I think SR has one effect on players who care about it, learn how to survive in a match whilst killing a few others.

SR: the most useless PoS stat you’ll ever look at in this game. That number means exactly jack squat. It can mean a lot of things, such as your ability to run away like a coward, to self-destruct, but, most importantly, how much you can kill-steal.

Yep, but usually good players will have a higher number naturally, since they usually kill much more and die less than the average Joe.

I would say average efficiency needs to be accounted for in the skill ratting.

In teams, yes. Solo? It’s exactly like I said.

I believe that this is the most useless thing, the skill of the player should speak for him his medals

But there are lots of medals…think total number of battles is important, the more you play you get better, right?

There are basic, like looking at the profile, I can immediately know what the player usually plays, which uses weapons and how effectively.

for example, if I see a player whose experience rating in 1700, and his chance to win 0.7, it is for me a bad player.

Itachi

0.7 is realy bad, considering that 1.0 is average.

2.0 is great for single player, for players who use the squad of at least 2.5, but that’s just my opinion.

You also have to consider that stats reflect from the beginning of account creation until present.  My stats used to be “below par” for various reasons.

same here, since I joined NASA I was a scrub with already 1500 games and horrible average kills and assists. Now I have to make a lot of +10 kills/assist every game to get +0.01 points

Don’t forget that it also relied to the type of ship you’re flying.

commands and engineer players have higher average assists, and I guess gunships and… maybe cov ops have more average kills

How can you explain my 3.00 average kills and I only fly the interceptor when in any given battle im in a command i can rack up to 15+ assists and some kills. LOL

Its all about your play style and the ships you fly that affect the stats.

with cov ops (not in 6v6 games or less) you should kill a lot i think

When was the last time you had a game that had 12 v 12 in anything higher than T3? I think everyone should ask that.

Even in T2/3, 12v12s are incredibly rare…
