Even in T2/3, 12v12s are incredibly rare…
not sure what you define as rare. But they seem to be less common than maybe a couple weeks ago. Still maybe 2 or 3 out of 10 battles are 12vs12. That is maybe not very often but I wouldn’t call it rare.

For the past 3 days, I’ve only had 8v8s, tops. Hell, I’ve even had 3v3s WITH BOTS! In T3!
I certainly matters when you play. I’m on US-Pacific time and play in the evening/night. I have not seen a T3 with bots yet but I’m maybe lower queued with my SR and lower ranked ships.

you think they took them out?
you think they took them out?
No I played them I think last night one at least but I usually don’t count them all the time.
It probably also matters if there is any kind of sale going on. With the Mk2 and ship sale I noticed shorter wait times in PvE. Before that I sometimes had to wait a long time. So if someone is play PvE then their not in PvP which puts the MM for an additional challenge to serve a match to all waiting in PvP. Of course that is not at the moment so every should be back to how it was before the sale.
Not sure if there is a noticeable shift in the Tiers after the ship sales that some move higher in ranks doing less games in lower tiers and more in higher.
First thing that should change, the timeframe for calculating any of those statistics, like a month. Because i have about 900 battles or so, and i think half of them were in the learning the game thing, in which i found everything beautifull, ohhh, that dude fired a flashing bubble at me and killed me AGAIN FOR THE 9th time!! SOOOOO COOOOOL. So, basically my stats, and many other people’s stats are kinda low, when that doesnt reflect our current skill, 1.11 win/loss ratio… Just because i was a little tarded at the beggining that stats will haunt me for some months.

be glad its actually low as high stats mean longer waiting times as the MM tries to screw you over.
Don’t forget that it also relied to the type of ship you’re flying.
My first in game purchase was for a Spirit, T3 premium Jericho ECM. I fitted it with green rapid fire plasma, great DPS, no overheat, but poor chance at a kill shot, and it was an ECM.
I had fun but the stats sucked.

I’ve gotten to the point of hoping for a 6v6! I don’t know what’s going on. You’re lucking if you’re seeing 12v12’s. I’m not sure whether to go to T2 to get bigger matches or jump to T4 to accept small matches.

I’ve had T2 with bots while grinding. Then you have to decide whether to grind or win.

It’ll take a long, long time. My stats keep rising, but they’d be a lot higher if I started fresh.

I’ve tried that too, with 2 anti spread mods and jerry 2 implant the accuracy is pretty decent, but the dps and range is not impressive…
Finding 12v12 is like finding the Holy Grial, specially for the new players: Everyone speak of it, yet no-one has seen it in a looooong time xD
PS: Tried T2, no 12v12 there during “high” population hours (1900-2100 players), just a lot of 8v8.
I actually don’t have a problem with how the rating is calculated.
I only have a problem with what it is called. DSR was a too long name. We complained. It was the number which was shown in lobby. People started being cocky and farmed DSR to be able to intimidate. It was renamed. Into “skill rating”. Which was just worse.
For being an Élö rating, most important thing is to change dynamically and relatively over time. Meaning it should set more weight on your performance in the last couple games / weeks, less on your overall career (like the pure W/L rating). It kinda does so I am okay with that.
My main problem is still just the term “Skill” rating. It could be numerous other things like “Performance” or “Threat” Rating even Powerlevel - or simply Rating - but to put the word Skill onto any number in a game is arrogant, and simply should be avoided.
Still don’t like the name.
I’m just surprised that one day after I post a comment related to shrapnel being related the kill shots that a dev blog is started attempting to fix the whole issue of DPS, kill shots, and kill stealing.
It’ll be a major improvement, but until other aspects are included such as beacon captures it’ll remain a k/d ratio except one that includes assists.
The only way to know for sure is to fly with/against the pilot in balanced teams
Maybe another name change is in order.
“Veterancy rating” = How much experience this player has with equally translates to how much of a threat he or she is.
More accurate then “Skill Rating” in that sense, and can be tweaked to show that the higher the rating, the more games, ships, and battles the player has played or acquired. Actually, the player directly translates to the “veterancy Rating” in it of itself.
