Secret Project Ships: Special Passive Ability - Tokens

We have to play with certain ranks of ships to obtain certain resources, like neodium, beryllium, monocrystals and special ship parts.

Such restriction can be good in some way, especially for players, who are leveling their ships.

 

However, I prefer to be among the end-tier at all times, without skipping it for the sake of loot or ship parts, etc.

Good thing is that nothing would change for an existing system.

This suggestion will only present one more option and a good, solid reason, why you should own at least 4 Secret Project ships in your ship slots.

AI Co-op mode should allow rank 15 ships to enter in order to use this feature.

 

Secret Projects should have an exclusive ability, which grants you loot drops that you prefer.

There should be a slot, where you could select your token for your Secret Project ship.

If you got any better way how to do this, it’s your call. I only presented my idea here.

 

 

There are multiple tokens that can be used. I will describe everything below.

 

Let’s discuss some rules or requirements first:

  • you have to use ONLY ONE token at a time (once token is selected, it will automatically lock for other ships)

  • you must use ONLY Secret Project ships in order to increase the drop chances (4 ship slots should be quipped for increased drop chances)

  • Secret Project ships have to be FULLY SYNERGIZED (rank 10 - elite synergy level) in order to use this feature

  • you must WIN a match in order to benefit from this feature

 

Benefits:

  • it costs nothing to equip or use such feature

  • existing system won’t be touched for rank 7, rank 10 and rank 13 ships (this is only an addition or alternative for “Veteran” or “Pro” players)

  • potentially more skilled players will play in the end-tier, leaving less skillful players in lower tiers

  • probability of more 2-men squads in the end-tier to increase chances of winning, which means less waiting time (currently 2 vs. 2 only)

  • you don’t have to use this feature, if you don’t want to, because it’s optional (not mandatory)

  • you can bypass required ships of certain ranks, play with your desired custom built ships in end-tier matches and get the required loot you need there

  • you can play with at least one rank 15 Secret Project ship in order to activate such benefit (reduced chance of preferred loot drops)

 

Cons:

  • none known so far, except that rank 14 Destroyers should be excluded from such benefits, but that’s a matter of opinion (read the notice about Destroyers below)

 

Token types: (PvP, PvE, AI Co-op, Special Operation - Tier V - rank 15 only)

  • neodium token (grants the ability that you can find neodium ore or neodium plate from your looting  screen in Tier V with your rank 15 ship)

  • beryllium token (grants the ability that you can find beryllium ore or enriched beryllium rod from your looting screen in Tier V with your rank 15 ship)

  • xeno token (grants the ability that you can find living crystal from your looting screen in Tier V with your rank 15 ship)

  • monocrystal token (grants the ability that you can find monocrystals from your looting screen ONLY, which replaces any other possible rare loot, like neodium and beryllium ore, plates, rods, or ship parts)

  • ship part token (grants the ability that you can find sought ship parts, like rank 7 Archelon’s ship parts, rank 10 Stingray’s ship parts and rank 13 Brokk’s ship parts)

 

 

Optional : (PvP, PvE, Open Space)

  • Insurance token (you will not pay any expenses for ship repairs, if destroyed and missile ammunition costs - craftable items excluded - PvP, PvE, Open Space)

  • Duplication token (you will be able to use ONE free duplication attempt, if your ship has been destroyed for free, or without any use of a Duplicator; 2 attempts total, if a Premium ship is used - PvE, Open Space)

  • Fuel Regeneration token (your fuel/energy reserve will restore itself, if your ship will stay immobile - regeneration: 1 fuel/energy point per 1 second - Open Space)

  • Double Synergy token (your standard synergy gained in Open Space is doubled, but this applies only for the kills and not any side missions - Open Space)

  • Free Synergy token (your standard synergy gained in Open Space is converted directly to free synergy, but this applies only for the kills and not any side missions - Open Space)

  • Instant Analysis token (you will be able to detect and analyze all loot or items in Open Space instantly, when approaching their visible radius, without any prior scanning,

  also, if you have a Spatial Scanner of rank 15 equipped, you will also be able to analyze the content hidden within a Mysterious container instantly once it gets visible, without any prior scan - Open Space)

  • Criminal Detection token (you will instantly see any Aggressors or Criminals wandering in Open Space at any range, except for cloaked ships or ships using masking abilities - Open Space)

  • Cargo Expansion token (you will be able to expand your cargo bay by an additional 3 cargo slots, also this ability stacks with Extended Hull GS Premium module - Open Space)

  • Booster token (you will be able to use the benefits of any selected Booster in Open Space, thus increasing your chances of survival - Open Space)

  • No Fee token (you will be able to use a Cargo Drone in Open Space without paying a 10% credit fee deducted from your items - Open Space)

  • Karma token (your Karma, whether negative or positive, will always be doubled in Open Space - Open Space)

  • Anti-Destroyer token (you will deal double damage to any Destroyer in Open Space, also this ability stacks with special GS ammunition for 200 GS - Open Space)

  • Anti-Alien token (you will deal double damage to any Alien or Infected ship in Open Space, also this ability stacks with special GS ammunition for 200 GS - Open Space)

 

 

Notice about Destroyers: (questionable)

If rank 14 Destroyers also possess such ability, then it is simple to do so.

  • rank 14 Destroyers, if equipped with a token, automatically become rank 15 Destroyers (usage of rank 15 crew/implant is ENABLED) and they count as rank 15 ships, just like Secret Projects do

  • same rules apply for Destroyers, like for any Secret Project ships

  • Destroyers can be combined with Secret Project ships

 

 

Developers, I will leave this for you to decide how to implement this feature. Hopefully you will implement it, so let me know.

Although the current situation is quite exhausting, and Koromac has some good ideas I still  think that pilots should only determine,  in a menu of some sort, which resources someone wants to look for. And still think that the same should be  found using any FULLY synergized ship of trier by pilots own choice.

Anything that rewards high level play is good in my book. Plus, you have to invest a lot of time and/or money into the game to get the benefits of this. It would be enough to make me fly my Jag again.

So when new players get some boost benefits - “rich” players go nuts, and when a suggestion directly aimed at making rich richer - that is great.

You dont see how much this actually says of how you play?

Why use R13’s when you can use R15’s? Why use R7’s when you can use R9’s? Etc etc etc.

All my good gear is in the tops of tiers, not the bottoms. That plus the fact that I rarely fly T4 makes R13’s essentially useless to me. (Once again, except for Mauler)

Perfect idea that I had in mind too.

As far as my experience in online gaming goes, it seemed only reasonable to let the top tier ships get the most useful loot. (Top tier, in this case, being secret project ships, not regular r15s)

I only do r15 battles and it kind of started to slightly annoy me that I am missing neodium, beryllium and the new premium ship parts. Even though the solution to that is to simply use the designated ranked ships, when I try to assess their value in my mind, the fun that I get from r15 pvp outweighs them.

 

But then again, they put the new premium ships to r7, 10 and 13 because they were lacking players and attention and had only 1 rival in the name of Mauler. The ranks of these new stuff make lots of pilots play and actually spend time on those relatively empty ranks, increasing their income. I don’t see them give up on that.

 

I really want to see this coming live but I really doubt it for this reason.

 

 

-Tokens are simple and creative too. I bet a ship that the tokens that give spatial scanner / extended hull / alien ammo effects will never go live, though.

exactly man i am fully supporting this idea i cant play r13’s they aint for me i cannot feel the ships man i cannot love them and also i bet they hated me too but a custom ship in r15 now this is what everybody wants pure customization i can and will name them even (like my Veronica she is a jaguar) cmon Cinnamon u must understand man i cant cheat her with useless r13 to get an op engy u know what i am talking about right?

Whilst I like the idea in terms of being able to attain the resources that you need for building ships and upgrading weapons faster,

It could also reduce the amount of time that people stick around at end game because they have been able to build and fully upgrade there ships that much faster although on the other hand I suppose it could also encourage some pilots to continue playing longer if they didn’t have to grind so much.

R13≠R15. Especially when it’s SP ships.
