First off, I’m not really into PvP. Secondly, I’m really not into one shot kill kind of stuff. End result is, I don’t like it.

I seem to get this one a lot for my daily pvp game while I bide time for fun content. I’ve got a t9 gunship build that works well for it but isn’t specialized for it, but maybe that will change soon with whatever changes are in store.

Way too many time I’m getting this bs gamemode. I’m taking a break from pvp until it is still available.

Funy fact is that destroyers are the worst ship in this mode :

Kill their motor, BOOM, 60k damage to hull.

quick kills require mobility and precision so that you can get in and out and avoid getting swamped.  This mode was made for maps that have cover everywhere, and for fast ships with accurate weapons ranged at 3-4k with current map rotation for survival. I bet even a cruise module gauss cannon would be effective in this game mode at the moment, but they can mitigate range problems and increase value for tactics by having survival only on maps with cover everywhere but no good standoff points. Like that alien map we did once for that league. The one that’s a giant cross with side alleys?  That would be great for a ffa survival. More pickups would be good too. Either more healing pickups that respawn, or some kind of “Adrenalin” system that lets you heal yourself if you’re doing well.  and maybe get rid of tickets. Experiment with kill counters and a flat time limit if you try a ffa version of this.

Not fun at all… a cov ops with the nuclear bomb… you sneak behind them, set the bomb and 3 enemy players blown up.

Yeah… and i feel cheap killing them this way, but like i said this game mode is not fun for me.

ELRF and crit built positrons, sneak in, down all the inties with 1shot, win. lol

And while sniping, you won’t see that destroyer/frigate throwing a photon/torp at you.

LoL, with x3 damage all u need is projectile speed to have a ton of fun xD

the biggest frustration, and you’ve all definitely heard it from me in game, is being forced to play with strangers who share responsibility for match outcome.

A survival style mode in ffa format would be just what this game needs provided the maps used were not wide open, or some kind of automated ladder system like the old utcomp or tam mods for unreal tournament where you could get in a queue and people in line face winner. I’m not sure it belongs in skirmish rotation, though, and there’s too much diversity for a loosely regulated 1v1 league to work.

I still stand by my claims that prefit league ships and ship limits would be the most egalitarian approach to competitive play in order to promote skill as the defining force. this would allow devs to just change these set league ships (or maybe have them dynamic fit themselves depending on the league type) before a league and would allow themes to emerge without an unbalanced nightmare. Themes like like fast and furious, or VIP escort, or capture the flag.

in any case, people like to buy the shoes. If you can successfully cultivate an active competitive ring in your circus you will attract people who may be willing to financially invest in order to be competitive.

but such things require experimentation and small baby steps or else you blow a load of money on development for nothing.

to be honest, rewards dont mean fun tho, its rather, lack of rewards is less enticing. I like how rockstar did their city kill farming simulator, no matter what you do in GTA, may it be missions or free roam, everything gives rewards, either progression or monetary, even epeen. Still you gotta farm, and do dat objectives. But you can also just do stuff without any meaning, and still get a bit out of it, or go full “spend the money on having fun” mode aswell.

I think the respawn thingies were a bit of a bad idea.

It is fun, if you were farming the enemy and suddenly lose by a single nuke making 7 kills in the last second, making the team win, which never was leading the whole game. I lost like that and I found that GG. Especially as soon as people get used to this game mode, pulling off kills with the nuke in this mode will get harder and harder.

Overall, its usually over fast anyway. If this mode stays up like it is, maybe we can balance the more “strategic” modes to be less braindead, and keep this for the quick decisive killing spree. I find, it is over too fast, and it should not have any growing respawn cooldown, and what I think about the 3 points killing enemy in spawn rule, I already told on other threads.
