Make crew slots free!

This is blatantly pay to win, something you have always claimed you did not want to do.

 

Being able to customise your implants on a ship by ship basis is a huge advantage, especially in higher tiers. By not making this available to everyone you are giving paying players a big advantage. That is pay to win.

 

Make them free. Give every player four crew slots. Refund any gold standards people have paid, or admit you are running a pay to win game.

What about you do it like the hangar slots? unlockable by tiers or battles, but fast unlocking by GS?

That would work too, though I would expect it to be set up so that top players don’t have a massive advantage over T2 / T3 people when they tier down.

Having different implant settings is never a “massive advantage” no matter how you use it.

 

It can be a very small advantage in certain ships and builds, which will be maxed out, instead of balanced with a balanced implant layout.

 

Or to be more precise, most people maximize their implants to fit their main class and style gameplay, slightly hindering their performance in other classes (for example, for commands only, the Jerry R8 implant makes a lot of sense, but in a balanced implant setting is just useless)

 

Now they will have the option to optimize the implants for each ship. But really, is not a big advantage. Most people use the same set of implants all around, because they are optimal. The only implants which are prone to change are the rank 2, rank 6, rank 8, rank 10 and rank 14. The rest are more or less fixed.

Either way, we’re talking about having a full lineup of optimized ships against unoptimized ships. The difference is still there. We all know skill is still of utmost importance, but the message that we’re receiving from the devs is that the way to go is through GS. Assuming all things equal, he who spends more money gets the upper hand.

I’m thinking about lazor crit damage ships vs projectile speed ships, commands on energy, etc. And if you can only obtain this with GS…yeah it’s exactly p2w. Well yes, I’ve never said that it wasn’t pay to win. I’m just saying that the amount of “win” is minimal, although is there.

Implants that may change between ships if you have one layout per ship :

r2, no need to explain why.

r5 for strafe speed/rotation speed

r6 for crit damage or projectile speed

r8 (Interceptors/commands, …)

r9 (Nerf of gigas 2, think about cheetah 2 for interceptors ?)

r10

r12 (energy for command, damage for LRF, …)

r14 

r15 (Hull/shield bonus)

At the beginning you have 1.

Maybe for each faction where you reach rank 12 or 15 maybe you get one additional crew.

Or the Synergy you don’t want to make into Free Synergy because the costs are insane. I would have to pay 500k GS to get all my synergy to free. Without paying you can’t use it.

Maybe 10million synergy per crew. It’s not that much.

Just no GS, 10million Credits would be ok too.

Seems fine for me too. Just keep the GS tag in case people want to unlock them before. Like the hangar slot.

1 per faction rank 12 is a great idea. or even rank 11. 

R6 - second crew,

R9 - third crew,

r12 - unlcock 4th slot

r15 - unlock 4th crew

Rank 12 already unlocks the fourth slot, so maybe all factions?  I already got that so I’m ok with it.

I don’t expect to be given everything with no work. But pay-walls for game mechanics are beyond stupid.

Or howabout just paying for them with cred? :3

It’d be 100m credits.  PvE’s crap right now, so GS would still be your best bet.

The lack of any official response to this tells me that it’s intentionally being ignored in the hope that our complaints will just disappear after a month or two.
