Main Weapon Balance

Everyone has his own weapon.

Buffing my gauss cannons right now would make it even crazier on my gunship :stuck_out_tongue:

The shrapnel cannon: Needs about 25% Reduction in spread but -120 Meters of range.

true. i used to love hail plazma, but the gauss canon just disappoint me a lot.

i really do not have good feelings about gauss cannon… its damage is too low according to its fire rate and heating.

well, its a matter of opinion, im a T3 vet and i put that sh*t away from my Katana… with AR I do much more dmg.

Dude, lol, ofc that weapon is bad on a Katana, gauss cannon is a sniper weapon, in t3 there’re a few ships where you can fly it and make it a damn deadly weapon.

Wolf, because his free projectile speed + it’s a fast gunship

Katana AE, becahse it has 2 cpu slots, where you can put crit damage (although that modules are not anymore on t3, if you had them you can still equip them)

Maybe Parallax because of the heating reduce, but I wouldnt do it because it only has 1 cpu slot.

I also used it on Katana S, Prometheus X and Dragonfly, they’re still easy to use, but bubbles/AR are better for that kind of ships.

You can easily get an average of 9-15 kills per match using that weapon correctly, interceptors just melt against it, dealing 3-4k crits to hull is any ceptor nightmare. empires one are slow, federation ones are weak, and not fast enough if you have proper aim and fast bullets, and the jericho ones can be ignored… or not.

That ship is also terribly good against tacklers and fed gunships, you can kill them in matter of seconds, but, as funky said, it’s just the taste of the player, honestly, I prefer that only a few players know how good is that weapon and let them keep using lasers and singularity cannons.

AR are also pretty nice if you’re using scanners to increase crit chance and crit bullets, specially on tacklers, where you can slow your enemy to the hell dealing 1k crits to hull with a 50% (more or less) crit chance.

And to end with this tldr post I don’t want a buff on that weapon because some players would just make everyone’s life a nightmare knowing how to use gauss. >_<

Best part about all that is that in T3 every Fighter weapon has its place and effective if you use it to its advantages

I prefer the Wolf-M with gauss myself, the EB has saved me so many times I can’t do without it anymore  But all have their preferences for that as well.

What Resi said: Gauss is good as it is.

And Wolf-M also counts as a decent Gauss ship.

of it counts, mainly because the rank, the eb and 1 more slot on cpu, but I prefer gauss wolf and bubble wolf-m (just personal preference)

Indeed the bubble Wolf-M is great. But did you know there’s a ‘right fitting’ which makes it just as effective with Gauss? It requires some T3 removed mods and your Gauss will rival the bubbles on Wolf-M

(not joking)

You could tell me your build via PM (although I think you just stack crit damage mods), I’m pretty interested, I’ve tried a lot of gauss builds but seems that you know more about that matter. We are corp buddies afterall

Check your mails. And keep vewy vewy quiet. I can also tell you of a mystical bubble fit which i’m sure you do not use

Ofc mate, we shall sare our wisdom between the corp members (or at least between you and me, haha).

Don’t wanna crush your party guys, but if you want to keep it secret, don’t mention it on general forums  even it is not intention of you, posts like these will put you in a “bad” light

You have the right to fear me and to remain silent!

I’ll say it again: i’d add 1 more shot before overheating on bubbles, and i hate all frigate guns. But then again, most people seem to love the stuff :expressionless:

I wouldn’t mind 1 extra buble pre overheat, but in the same time i feel like hitbox of the projectile has to be reduced (it most likely won’t affect accuracy vs frigates, but will reduce effectiveness vs Intys)

That bubble gun is a joke, anyone who uses them get DESTROYED to pieces just because they have it and people tend to target it more as a higher priority.

this is far from truth, good and experienced bubble gun user can and will bring heavy pain to the enemy team, especially in 12v12 situations where half the team is trying to understand how to fly. Bubble gunners do have counters though and i sometimes i go for specifically hard counters when i see those, right from the spawn, almost completely removing those main dmg sources from the game. I almost always have an Anti Frig ball ship and Anti bubble Gun ship in my lineup

I have not noticed this. I’m currently running a bubble Gunship and I’ve had LESS locks on me, actually…

Yes.

When I was grinding guard and I saw a bubble gun being used on an enemy ship he got my attention.  My EM resists were too high to fear him, I wanted to kill him out of hate.

I’ve met Guards like you. They still died.
