Loyalty

This is really not a big deal at all.

Fly your ship with Mk.II gear (almost as good as III) and purple gear (better than III) and you will be fine. After playing the game for many weeks, you could free up some Mk. III gear.

Sounds like appropriate pacing to me.

I agree with that argument Demo but you need to get Loalty from winning games and not just by doing contracts. What your going to see now is that a lot of people are just going to be worried about completing a contract even if it means not helping win the objective. When we got more loyalty from winning I barely cared about my contracts because I always do enough to get them completed but now with the only source of loyalty coming from a contract I have to worry more about the Contract than I do winning the game. I also don’t like playing games where you have to spend your whole life to have fun in the game. I really enjoyed the pace of the game and I was having a great time. I already spent around 130 dollars so I don’t feel like I should be gimped with more reasons to spend money to play this game. ( It took a lot of Gold Standards to level my Corporation to 150 pilots if anyone needs the reason I spent that much) I’m not going to quit the game when I reach top levels, if anything I’m going to have more fun concentrating on winning and collecting rare items and whatever else they come up with for me to do. I never stopped playing COD because I hit top Prestige. Playing the game is what makes this game fun and now they want to turn it into some money grabbing grind which I really don’t like. If you want money then I feel the game before they made the changes was perfect. The DEVELOPERS were gushing with how well their game was doing so they were seeing a lot of MONEY so to do what they have done with this last patch comes off as a blatant cash grab by most of us in the community. I have faith with all the complaints that they will fix it so we will just wait and see.

While +1 is useful, I agree actually saying something (not too long and flame/rant avoiding) multiple times is more likely to be considered. Anyone can +1, but take the time to type something out properly and you gain… Not respect but more attention maybe?

Yeah and you responding to all my posts, that’s not a waste of characters either, is it ??? really your that butt hurt that you have to respond to everyone’s posts.

The fact that you gain no rep unless you finish final round of scenarios needs to be changed. Very little money(with a loss) comparatively to what there was before, and no main faction rep unless you complete full scenario.

Devs, plz fix that.

The word beta gets tossed about a lot, just like mmo.

Its NOT and MMO when your maximum 12 players in one game, how is that massive multiplayer?

Its NOT a beta for several reasons:

1: If your charging ppl money.

2: If there is no wipe when game is “released”.

3: If your advertising the game on steam and it does not say beta annywhere.

4: if your selling expnasion packs to the game.

PS: ppl learn to use the enter key, 90% of the ppl in here do not read one long pice of text, we just skip it and move on.

If you want to be heard, know who your writing to and write acordingly.

It was Hamas who made the character point. I simply agreed that it is better to state something than +1 sometimes.

Also, very quiet at work and I am bored, so yea, replying more often.

Benache are you a moderator or something ? Why are you constantly replying to everyone’s posts. We have all made it clear that we do not like the new loyalty system and you have made it clear you agree with it so I’m not sure why you are responding to everyone’s posts because no one really cares what you think. Realizing that we are still in beta I’ll bet they fix it. I’m not sure why you feel like this is your burden to bear. Your +1’s to the 2 people that agree with you is not doing anything to help the situation. Your not changing anyone’s mind. The new loyalty sucks and I believe the Dev’s have already said they will fix it which suggests that they are going to listen to the majority and not the minority, which by the way includes you. :bomber:

To your first question : yes

To the rest of your post, just 3 thoughts :

  • you want me to shut up because I don’t agree with the crowd. Nice way of thinking.

  • the majority of what ? Oh, yeah, the majority of posters that voiced their opinion in a very respectful, peacefull and calm way yesterday. Did it occur to you that maybe there are a lot of people that don’t mind this change ? A lot of haters registered yesterday in the forum for that only goal. Would you do that to say “oh i dont mind its not great but its ok” ? No. We only see the haters here. The only way to know the general opinion would be an ingame poll.

  • I watch closely the ingame chat (hint for your first question) and yesterday I counted as many pros than cons. Roughly.

Though I appreciate moderately your insulting PM suggesting to see a doctor, I am here calmly trying to explain what I think since and the vast majority of haters just insult me for the only reason that they don’t agree with me.

A crowd of haters is not a majority. A long list of messages saying all te same things over and over is not constructive. Insulting those who don’t think like you is not a way of being taken seriously.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle#Beta

I know wikipedia isn’t always accurate but in this case it’s mostly correct.

  1. No one is charging anyone. The game is free to play everything else are add-ons that aren’t required.

  2. Nonsense. Just because a program is in beta doesn’t mean it has to be wiped for the release

  3. That’s an issue with Steam not with Gaijin.

  4. Once again non-required add-ons that don’t add any exclusive in-game content.

Also about the +1 issue:

Considering the fact that most people don’t even want to read a 9 pages long thread of the same rant repeated over and over and the devs don’t look in here anyway (that’s we have admins and GM’s for duh) and even if they did they’d stop at page 1, +1’ing is the far more effective way if you wish to voice your opinion since it is a far more accurate way of telling how many people actually share which opinion. Seeing the same person post the same rant 1000 times or 1 makes no difference. It’s still only his opinion.

Oh and my posts mostly don’t get +1’s because I make sure to be as frank as possible and not sugarcoat my words. I tried doing that for a week and already got tired of it. I also don’t care about it really since the vast minority of people who still read this thread either agree with me or don’t. It doesn’t matter to me either way.

I see where you’re coming from, but if contracts are making people do weird things that’s a problem with the contracts; not the loyalty points. They should make contracts have more co-operative goals. There are some like this: save a fellow ship from being destroyed, capture a beacon…these all encourage teamwork and goal-oriented play.

Playing the game is fun. I can log in and play the game right now. My reputation with a sub-faction won’t stop that. I just hit “Play!” and there I am, flying in space and shooting at other people’s spaceships.

The only thing affected by sub-faction reputation is the blue items. Over time I will be able to loot green items (which are almost as good) and purple items (which are better). Again, this is unaffected by my rank with a sub-faction.

The whole uproar seems simply much ado about nothing.

Well they need to fire you then. Do your job and moderate. Stop injecting your opinion into the matter because your opinion does not matter because it’s biased. You don’t see moderators in other games stirring the pot and arguing with the users in the forums. Your here to break up trolls and flame wars which is funny because your posts accomplish both, go figure.

Since there may have been a good point or two from Draconas earlier, I dub this hour (14:18-15:18 22-03-13) to be constructive hour.

The devs changes the loyalty system. Not a tweak, not a whisper, but wholeheartedly holy moly all the way. Not a problem. It was bland and boring, and barely different from the two other systems of ship xp and faction rep. I think that is a good idea.

Loyalty now comes from contracts, and only contracts. Excellent, this differentiation adds a new vector to the game, one that has to be considered, rather than automatic. Excellent.

Loyalty gains are decreased massively. Not excellent. In fact, smack on the nose with a rolled up newspaper bad. Hopefully, this will get fixed.

I thought loyalty gains were slow already, and now they are only a fraction of that. I pray to every deity I believe in (three of them hindu, five of them D&D, and one gnome that lives in my sock drawer) that this hefty decline in loyalty gain is repaired to at the very least 80% of the pre-patch gain per hour, preferrably with more contracts, lowered cooldowns, and increased gain per contract. I would also really like to see more contracts aimed towards PvE.

All in all, this change came from supposedly good intentions, but the implementation so far has been quite the faux pas. The devs have stated that they will fix it. If they do (to the point where loyalty grinding makes sense once more) this change will have improved the metagame.

Also, perhaps you devvies might consider the effect long-term contract costs have on this change?

Which is why people raging and quitting over it is meaningless. It’s a temporary issue that overall doesn’t stop you from enjoying the game.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO

This is to Benache and all the other people crying about us crying. lol

Just got an update and guess what??? They increased the rewards for CONTRACTS. So you guys can suck it. WE WIN. I knew they were going to listen to us. I could make many comments about some people.

Instead I will simply say this, thanks devs.
