Loyalty

Some contracts are really aggravating to complete, too.

Vanguard Effective Web requires you get the finishing blow on two enemies with your plasma web in the same match. It’s hard enough to kill one person with a plasma web given shield regen and support modules and how little DPS they deal, doing it twice in one game (5-10 minutes? Consider web’s cooldown…) is nearly impossible.

Techs Snare requires you kill 3 enemies under the effect of your tachyon cocoon. Not assisted by, not nearly after, /during/ the 2-3 second window they’re stunned. Since Tach Cocoon has recently been nerfed, this is aggravatingly difficult to pull off at all agaisnt decent players, much less thrice.

Both contracts are interceptor specific and basically mean you’ll be spending a lot more time in ceptors, which may or may not be a problem if you don’t like them.

Hard is fine but I don’t want to pull off an ‘almost impossible’ for 400 out of 120k rep.

Its the cooldowns that make this a real pain

mostly the rage is because those who do grind now see no return as their contracts r done in no time then they r gettin nothing. doin something and not gettin reward is hugely frustrating.

I get the point of makin the blues much harder to attain (infact after alot of thought today that seems a better idea, iv been playin under a week and hav already every single blue t1+2) but u could’v done this so much better, why not just increase the rep needed per level? there woulda been hardly any fuss bout it but insted every1 is really annoyed

Remove cooldowns and the system is somewhat ok

Remove cooldowns and the system is somewhat ok

+1

They weren’t kidding when they said this was Beta. I utterly love this game, the gaijjinent has done an awesome job with it. But what is this!? I just don’t understand how you can consider this a good idea. If contract cooldowns were taken off, it would be midly ok, but that is not the case. I really hope you guys will change it back the old system, or remove cooldowns on the contracts.

Hey Benache, how about a little fair and balanced reporting, eh?  Why not show that exact same picture at Rank 8?  Or Rank 11?..

Because it would prove everyone elses point, of course.  If you showed how a contact nets you 3000 and you need 100,000 your little visual aid would paint a completely different picture.

OFC its easy to get to rank 2 from rank 1.

Total loyalty needed to get to Rank 12: 910,000

Wanna play with numbers ? I assume that your explanation, Benache, try to answer to just one question : “It will take time to grind”

But there are dozen of other questions …

You show that it will be really fast to raise up the sub faction with this new system.

Let count the first week. After a week, I was rank 6 in every sub faction with the help of the licence.

Let see what happen after one week with this new system :

There are three kind of contract : One-week contract, one-day contract, and the others. Let say that I play the others twice a day. And I play every day to raise my sub-faction.

Day 1 : 1200 (other) + 3750 (1day) + 3000 (1week)

I can be level 2 so I do one more contract : 900 (other) = 8850 points.

I am Rank 2 + 4650. (I need 2550 point to reach rank 3)

Day 2 : 5850

I am rank 3 + 3300 (need 9300)

Day 3 : 8100

I am rank 3 + 11400 (need 1200)

Day 4 : 14100 (with a new 1week contract)

I am rank 4 + 12900 (need 11100)

Day 5 : 8100

I am rank 4 + 2100 (need 3000)

Day 6 : 9600 (with 2 other contracts)

I am rank 5 + 6600 ( need 40400)

Day 7 : 9600

I am rank 5 + 16200 (need 24200)

My licence just ends …

Remove cooldown is an option, but contract forces you to go deeper in the spirit of a faction. For example, you need to understand the mechanic of the invisibility to grind in the Armada.

Perhaps we need more different contracts. Faction game (pve and pvp) where you have to fight with ships of a faction for its glory.

The current system looks like a Facebook application. Please consider Star Conflict as a video game, not a pastime.

(And I just lost 320K creds)

sry double post

The loyalty gain change is completely ridiculous and uncalled for. All it does is unlock the blue modules, and we still have 6 factions to grind through to be able to fit our ships decently and that takes a lot of time. I fell in love with this game the first day i started playing it (the day it was released on steam), and i already have 90+ hrs clocked on it, despite being able to play on weekdays only. But this patch has completely killed any fun of playing it, when i see the sheer amount of grind required to get the goddamn rank up, even for a single faction! Please, for the love of god, revert the loyalty changes back!

p.s. i have a nagging feeling they’ve changed it so we buy more of those shiney premium mods instead of grinding them, way to go, gaijin, way to go.

If you showed how a contact nets you 3000 and you need 100,000 your little visual aid would paint a completely different picture.

And for those that are gonna say that you need 190 000 to go from level 11 to 12, i’ll just say there are level 10 contracts worth 12 000 loyalty.

Of course major problem is cooldown time which is way to huge for some contracts. As i stated before.

I still think the best answer is to revert to the old system but increase the amount of rep needed per level. then contracts r a bonus not a neccessity

then contracts r a bonus not a neccessity

That the spirit !

Basically, I like the way it was for this reason : You could choose how you wanted to raise your reputation. Contracts was just a bonus.

I like to feel free to up how I want.

I don’t see the need for increasing the grind time for the subfaction standing, because they ONLY give you the blue mods. Increase main faction rep requirement so it takes longer to grind ship tiers, now that’s more reasonable change to promote longer time to reach the top ships, but simple mods? That’s just plainly stupid, the time to grind the mods for ships already was 3x-5x the time you needed to get the ship and the money for the mods even before this change.

While reduction might be ok, completely removing it from every battle, i feel is a bit much. However, on the other hand, i do like that you can only get it up with contracts now. The reason i like it is simple, the boosts are not that amazing from mk3 stuff. Furthermore, everyone running around in a fully decked out ship with max stuff is a little annoying. I enjoy games that make me work to earn things.

That is my “im torn” post.

I disagree with that too. I can’t imagine that being the reason.

If anything, moving the goalposts to a point where it is almost infeasible has quite the opposite effect on me.

Case in point:

Quake III. This game offered NO progression, no change. The only thing that progressed was your own skill.

I have played that game for many years. Why? Because the gameplay was fun and ever challenging and everyone was on equal footing.

Now with loyalty being such a PITA to attain, I can’t fly the ships I want with the gear I want, unless I spend 15 billion years waiting for contract cooldowns or spend ludicrous amounts of gold (well over $110 to fully fit ONE T4 ship. Seriously?), and people that already have rank 12 in everything because loyalty was ok to grind before this patch have an absolutely massive advantage.

Also, If this is some cheap trick to get people to buy gold guns/modules then think again. People are not going to buy gold gear just because it was made it impossible to grind for the blue stuff before the heat death of the universe; It’s only going to make people find something else to do with their time and money.

Could not agree with you more

There’s six subfactions and only 3 factions. Even under the old system you’d max all your factions before the subs, so… Yeah. Why is this change necessary?

If you need to reduce rep gain across the board, fine, so be it. Just doing this one aspect however leaves the subfactions woefully neglected compared to the mains in all cases. Why does the empire for example like me enough to sell me ships but not weapons for them?

I also I don’t like the way contracts force me to play pvp in a very specific way.

Plus, if I feel like PVE, it means I get ZERO loyalty, because contracts don’t work there at all.  Wonderful.

5 pages in this post alone in half a day.

is that telling you annything error?

Before this patch, most of my loyalty gain was from playing matches.  I considered the contracts as a way to supplement this gain, and while I did pay attention to completing the contract objectives, I gave little thought to the quantity of loyalty I was gaining.

Now that contracts are the only way to gain loyalty, I see that I have some that only give 200 or 300.  I had to go back and reread the patch notes and find the section where you said this was increased.  Increased from what, 100 to 200?  That is not nearly enough to offset the fact that you removed approximately 1,000 loyalty gain from each match, and when I need many tens of thousands of loyalty to rank up.

All contracts need to be giving thousands of loyalty to balance these changes, 100 to 200 is not even a funny joke.

This game is dead in the water without an active player base and you are losing many an active player with these absurd changes.
