Interceptor Guide

I would recommend PG on ECM, due to its weird behavior:

This gun REDUCES Spread while firing, which makes it perfect for ECM sue to the reduces heating rate.

So begin firing at targets early for better precision.

I would also recommend to swap that sensor for Horizon and the acceleration-thingy for collision comp, or catalyst injector.

I love its mechanics, and I hate being all up in someone’s face with shrapnel because it either means they had the audacity to come into my area of protection, or I went full xxxx and in enemy lines. I can’t stand shrapnel, mostly because almost everyone uses it, as well as in order for my play style to get the most from it is to go full xxxx. I don’t like going full xxxx as a support.

how many times did I just say the same thing? my bad ._.

I did put on Horizon and swapped out the AB eater for Collision Compensator; hopefully I can make more clutch saves more efficiently.

Shrapenel canon requires patience and good aim to use. You know when im having a bad day or “lack sweet rolls” when I miss 5/10 shots.

So usefull your guide, thanks ^^

I love use the Rf blaster, but i think i am the only…

I still have it on my recon, and I’m thinking of putting it on my covops as well.

Recons should actually use long range weapons. Why? They have the low survivability and there modules require them to be away from the battle, not up close.

Depends on the ship, if you can get your speed above 600 you can try hit and run.

Recons are good “loner” ships. The idea is to troll multiple opponents and reduce their healing rate with spydrones. So you can wear them off.

Agreed. Recons are DEADLY against a captain in Combat Recon. If you have a recon ship and you have a teammate with a CO or a gunship, then kiss that captain goodbye.

Depends on a Faction: Empire recons are super durable and they module set makes them night impossible to kill with no chained cc. So you can go in kill 2-3 snipers on same dive and get out alive.

I can attest to this. Empire Recons are also very good in melee versus ships that cannot out-manoeuvre them. Built and used properly, they can face heavy-hitting frigates head on.

As other have said, at least empire recons are super durable, they’re easily the interceptors with the highest survivability. Also modules like mines and remodulator are up close systems, and there is nothing that requires range on a recon.

Maybe Recons need a better weapon. I remember most recons in other games have medium range weapons and some come equipped with a Null ray of some sort. Or a EMP gun.

I think they are strong enough.

Just look at Swift Eagle and King Nibelung.

In fact those ships made me forget about ECM.

Ah, I rather just keep chugging along in my Covert Ops…all nice and matte black…

Due to all the nerfs and new layouts (which feel like nerfs sometimes, too) Some CovOps became really viable again (they sorta vanished in 9.0.)

Still the Eagle-M is just a shadow of its OPness pre 9.0. but the last battles I made with it reminded me on good ol times when the Kite was able to rack up 10+ Kills in a match with ease.

Recon is ship that can do his combat role quite good. I use mine for detecting and killing enemy lrf, engies and other suporting ships.

When nukes actually killed people?

Currently I find Recons much more useful than CovOps, due to all that utility that comes with Recons.
