yus… we need a class redesignation. ECM = Fighters
Buff speed up on Tacklers and put that on the interceptor tree.

I always said that, would make way more sense. Although, the way the game has progressed, do you really want to fight a singularity ECM fighter now…?
i forgot
/sarcasm

Yeah but I didn’t. I really think originally designing it that way would have been better though. Tackler just screams interceptor.
Wait, why dont we switch roles. Make the Tackler an inty and the ECM a fighter. both will now…be…better?

Well, f*** that noise.

And ECM fighter would be an interesting challenge. But interceptors that go fast and stop your movements preventing you from dogfighting is just as deadly.
hmmmm

Well, currently we have interceptor putting you in stasis, draining your energy and disabling your guns, whereas a tackling interceptor would just slow you and reduce your resists. I know which one I’d prefer to fight.
A tackler interceptor could be really fun and useful but stasis on a ship that can equip singularity would be OP beyond measure.
ECM’s role is more of a fighter role. A tackler with speed could actually intercept! I’ve thought about this too, it does make sense. The modules just don’t match.
Is it any wonder my Kris AE has 15k survivability?

An ECM’s role is Support. That does mean you have to fly between the front lines and the Frigate-lines like it was a ballet.
My Kris-AE has 13k survivability, but I sacrificed the Armour mod for stable ab and my shield slots are very situational. Very anti-nukes/pulsar/etc…
I can still play bait, but I’m more cautious against better teams. It is support, so staying alive helps more than getting in and out in my view. Often you have to be at the front lines to do anything more than debuf a guy straying too far.
Maybe its just superstition…
520 is a magical number, try to build your ships in the higher tiers to have at least 520 AB Speed, so you can outrun most of the other shipclasses and be able to get to hotspots fast enough.
Still, 520 is too low for “speed tanking” that begins 600+.
Last night i changed my deimos build around to have 13.5k sensor range, damn that thing awesome, Sai got moved from being my favorite toy
Question: Is Plasma Gun viable at all? Or is the current interceptor meta explicitly shrapnel cannon? And lastly, if I rather focus on using implants for sensor range and resistances, should I even bother with trying to fit my Spirit, and just pick another ship type? I find myself either being extremely useful with shutting down Recons and COs trying to take down my captain, as well as being a diehard little bugger, but other than that, its damage is paltry at best. Bear in mind, I love playing support roles, but I like to have bite behind my bark as well.
I may also like to say “pew pew pew” in time with the gun firing…

In your build:
a) sensor range is cool but its not really an ECMs job, i would put spread reduction/crit module into that slot
b) you have a conflict in your tanking/mobility for once you use adaptive shield but you can not sustain your AB in order to gain benefits form it, so either you remove (recommended) that energy hog from your engine slot or you take of your adaptive shield for something else

PG is viable but it’s mostly used on Recons or specialized CovOps. It’s an excellent anti-Fighter weapon, though. Your implants, if you want to fly solely Ceptors, should focus on speed, handling and resistances. Now for the fit…
Imma be honest, it’s not the wildest thing I’ve seen, so far. In fact, I’ve seen far worse. However, the worst part about the Spirit is that you literally have no Capacitor/Armour slots to fit any kind of energy regen, engine and CPU have no such things and using a shield slot for that is just heretical. That’s why the Kris-AE is far superior to the Spirit. But for those that don’t have it, I can understand their reasons (it’s mostly “I haven’t reached it, yet”). That adapter, the way I see it, is the worst option you have on that ship. It just doesn’t work on any ship and it’s borderline effective on Ceptors… But the extra speed at the cost of ab usage… no. You’re breaking your own tank, so I suggest you fit an extra speed module and the Collision compensator. You’ll be hugging rocks and other ships so hard, you’ll need it.
This was my fit a few days after the Passive Revamp:

And I’ll tell you right now… it was op. I could bring down the debuffs, quite literally, anywhere in the map in a moment’s notice. I fly from the front lines to the Frigate lines constantly to support our living Frigs and continued to dish out as much pain as necessary in the front. Flares are there solely to take advantage of the R8 implant and to actually veer away the occasional missile, as well. Effectiveness can be debated vs the Multiphase module, but I use it because of the extremely short cd. I know it’s no Spirit, but it works all the same. Not to mention is more stable in energy usage.
Tyvm for the different perspectives, its much appreciated.
