Styx can pinch hit as a pseudo guard, that ship is just awsome
I crawled out of my comfortable Torpedo boat last night to try out the Styx. I am pretty sure the build would be considered lame …but I managed to get the surviability up around 54K. Put the standard Engineer modules and optied to use the Energy module vice Static Barrier or Warp gate…
Needless to say I had mixed results … as my found myself unknowingly playing it like I was in a Fed guard… :what:
Going to have to play it more to figure it out… but I somewhat can see why so many ppl seem to like it !
You don’t need to lock on to a Styx to shoot it. I make myself a target so I can take the heat off an allied guard, but even then I’ve never gotten more than 3 locks. Made my Gigas II seem pretty useless.

I get shot at, but with one or two of the enemies actually locking on to me, I don’t think I got much out of the Gigas II. Swapped that out for the Jeri version for the sake of my other ships (both of them rely more on shields).
If i have that many locks on me im already doomed. Jerry implant for me

I had to play against him and 2 friends of him in a 3v3… I was with Takamina but still they fucked us with x2 gunship x1 engi squad
Am I the only one who isnt priority target when playing engi? I never had to put Gigas II implant because I barely get locks on me.
I’m not instantly targeted, too few engineers are useful in the game so people no longer know to target them, but it’s still a slow xxxx frigate. All if takes is two guys attacking to weaken the ship enough to beg for more attention.
