Guard Module

You getting ecmed means that your teammates arent…

So in a sense, you are guarding your teammates from disables.

But then the guard can’t stop the interceptor swarm that is killing your team mates… Good Inty pilots are very hard to kill without some sort of AOE module/damage or a tackler.

ECM just has to stun a guard for it to loose its modules.  It can still freeze and energy drain whatever else it wants.

ECM can disable every slowing mechanic meant to make interceptors vulnerable. Some, like the gravibeam and inhibitor beam don’t have a recharge time, and can be used immediately after the stuns wear off. However, others such as the engine suppressor and the Guard’s mass propulsion inhibitor have a hefty recharge.

The inhibitor beam and engine suppressor require a lock to be activated, which can be scrambled by an ECM.

There is no other ship class that mandates a player set their implant and CPU slot a specific way just to have a chance to counter them. The vast majority of ships only have 1 CPU slot, unless you count Interceptors and Gunships (which aren’t Guards or Tacklers). While ships with multiple CPU slots may be able to throw one away just to counter ECM spam, ships with only 1 slot would be wasting a lot of potential equipping a Proton Wall instead of an IR Scanner, Horizon, or Electronic Guidance.

ah! just blue torpedo the sucker, and it will give him a headache worth about 14k in damage

I would say pulsars are better, but then they gave ECMs the ability to disable those…

Here’s the problem. If the ECM you are facing has anywhere close to full health, you can’t win. You will facetorp him, he will survive the blast from that stupid hidden explosive resistance, and now he can destroy you much easier because your Torp has done much more damage to your own shields.

Torps should only be used in this manner as a last resort or a parting shot to take the little bugger out with you.

Tackler, Guards Mass Propulsion Inhibitor and recon slow missiles dictates F8 implant

ECM can not scramble lock

MPI is not disabled by Ion beam - not sure about this one - is it?

We use to have F1 that was pretty much mandatory to counter CovOps and Gunships for over a year

MPI does get shut off if you are ion-ed I’m pretty certain.  I remember using it on a fed guard that was chasing me and it shut off awhile back.  I know that the shield/hull repairs get shut off as well.

The only real counter to the ECM is the cov ops white noise, which is on another interceptor.  Now maybe have the guard with an AOE white noise to prevent stuns from ECM?  Might work?

Nope.

Let this kind of things to the LRF.

Nope.

Its only for everyone locked on the LRF.  I was thinking everyone within a certain range of the guard would loose their locking for how many ever seconds while the module was active just like the MPI.  I can see why that would be OP though…  Was just an idea
