Ok, so the special module for guards resists kinetic, thermal, and em damage. why not add a 4th that lessens all controlling effects? That way some ECM can’t just come in and completely take out your guard by itself. Or perhaps add another type of resistance for controlling effects?
I use this module and worked out pretty well, a 5 second ion will now become 3 second.
It’s almost hilarious that you already need a damn module on all your ships just to be able to survive ECMs. And even then they might dominate you, dat ships… There should be a bonus for some kind of ships to increase resistance against controllig effects & the duration against interceptors should be shortened.

Well think about it, Almost every ship has a counter except ECM. Frigs have trouble with fighters, fighters have trouble with inties, inties have trouble with frigs. except for ECM. ECM can freeze other ships and demolish them. They’re way overpowered, and it’d be nice if they couldn’t take out guards easily. 3 seconds is still a while, especially for a guard frigate where you can’t miss.

Guards will still be SOL no matter how long the controlling effects are from a good ecm pilot. 1/1billionth of a second of a stun still shuts off pulsar, emergency regeneration, engine inhibitors, ect (Then have to wait for recharge). Better hope you have a good team with you. The ecms pretty much take away the guard’s ability to do its job as support and some tanking for about 30 seconds while its modules recharge. And an orange ion stun recharges pretty darn fast too.

your right, but Im talking about the problems that guards have against ECM’s, and they are talking about implants and proton walls to counteract the ECM’s effects, thats whay I say that the most easy way is just to blue torp the ECM, I know I mostly fly a jery guards myself, and thats how I deal with the ECM problem ( sorry did I say ECM problem, I meant to say “thats how I deal with the ECM corpse”)
ECMs are to SC what Hunters are to WoW, they are the facerolling class. You hit 2 buttons and insta-gib everyone.
The problem with that is… if you reduce their CC, they almost become useless and reducing their damage isn’t an option, either, cause they already do too little…

Well going up against ECM’s is almost like dancing the waltz, you just count the steps 1,2,3,4. 1,2,3,4., step 1.- see ECM coming at you hit pulsar to force him to disable you for 2 seconds. step 2.- ECM most likely will hit module to drain you capacitor. step 3 you start shooting your HB’s to force him to evade the incoming fire and ECM start’s the typical maneuver of flying in circles around you. step 4 in range fire blue torpedo…and if for some reason he survives the blast GUESS WHAT! the purple pulsar is back online

I was wondering why the Coil Mortar was sucking hard.
Yeah, balanced mechanics, Much power, such utility, must equip.
As long as it gives us better control over this module - sure.
Otherwise I have to re-learn my muscles. Cycling through 4 modes with 1 button will be too much.
