Speed, maneouvrability, regen tank instead of buffer (faster back into combat), damage output, “escapability” (blink jumping, emergency shields etc), very useful special passive modules, special weapons which don’t miss… Pretty much in every regards to be honest. This is especially evident in smaller games which are unfortunately very common. In larger games they struggle more because too much dps can get past their regen.

you make it sound so easy, wanna show us some builds that would incorporate at least half of these things and outperform Empire-Feds in their respective niches?

I don’t care about Open Space rework, i never play this mode or any other mode (execpt PvP). The best mode of this game is the PvP, this is the sector you need concentrate your efforts, PvP and balance. The only problem are the destroyers, they are too powerful, is boring and exhaustive fight against them (principally against static shield and heavy repair drones), i just prefer ignore them, ok 3x more damage in 1000m it’s good but for a lot of ships in game, it’s very difficult reach so close to destroyer, impractival.

I suggest turn down destroyers survivability (something like 3x, don’t worry destroyers fanboys they still tank like a guard frigate) and set a maximum number of static shield and heavy repair drone can be used in a battle (3 per cartridge it’s a good number). Or just separate them of the normal players (something like destroyers vs destroyers, i already suggest this before).

It’s not because you don’t like a game mode that everyone think the same way… and after all this time i’ve never thought there will be someone that still can’t take out a dessy… you know if you rush at him in a straight line you’ll die

You do realise this game is based on rock-paper-scissors concept? So every ship has a counter, usually in different ship class. So if you want to kill a destroyer - you are taking something with high agility, to kill a frig - dessie or gunship, to kill an intie - tackler etc. In SCL yesterday we had a situation when enemy took 3 destroyers at the beginning, so we came out with 1 interceptor, tackler (painter!), 1 engie, gunship and a destroyer (debuffs + support fire) all enemy destroyers were down under a minute. We had another battle, when our team was already tired and we made a mistake deploying 2 inties and a tackler vs 2 tacklers and 2 ecms. Well, 3 quick points to enemy gave us a waking call. From what you are describing - you were flying with a frigate against a destroyer - which usually ends up very bad for the frig…

Dude destroyers are countered by a lot of things. A recon can be hell for destroyers to battle, any fast ship can take on a dessie and a group of ships can take out a dessie easy .

Destroyers aren’t that strong right now (R14 ones probably are, but I haven’t flown them yet and don’t really have an opinion about those). What I REALLY DISLIKE is not being able to go toe-to-toe with other destroyers not because of skill, but because of luck and/or $$$. Why did you make r11 modules be crafted instead of purchased? The parts go for 10s of thousands of GS because of the minuscule drop rates of the darn RNG-Ridden caches.
And then there’s PvE. Why match r11 against t5? Is this intentional? We can’t farm pve above rank 10 because it takes forever to finish a mission and we’re forced to do lower tier PvE to be able to grind the credits needed to purchase more ships and modules. I don’t know, but these things irk me. Sorry for the rant.

destroyer Ace = down… it’s very rare a destroyer who can fight a light ship. But we can.

Again this destroyers OP rhetoric, destroyers are only OP to people that can’t develop a build , fly in straight lines and forget to use the objects in space for cover.
