this is absolutely true. the best and most convincing feature of SC is – or maybe was – it’s pvp. and it has been neglected, yes.

 

i never tried to polarize here, since i know some people like pve and i also found adding raids and open world was nice touch - and i think anyone who loves pvp should of course value these additions. what i dont like is if we start to build crowds and fight against each other. but we all should agree, that a good product plays on its strengths - and SC should always keep a good eye on its pvp. it does not have to be on the cost of other modes, but that message is still true.

it is exhaustive, yes. boring, yes. too powerful? the only destros which were too strong were always vigilante and tyrant. all other destroyers might be dangerous, tanky, or annoying, but not too powerful. and also those two were only too powerful if they had the team around them, like a personal brokk, and the right equipment. the inpenetrable sails were indeed annoying, but they were nerfed. generally, they can die now really easily.

 

it is only in the meta where they get annoying, like gravi holes as beacon denial (which is a really annoying and stupid mechanic, still)

 

i wont give you the advice to take someting light and nimble to take them out - while a CO can really devastate them, you should rather use pinging, and try to fly together with others; focus fire, or extremely long range constant fire. ignoring them isnt such a bad idea either, since the main target for destros is actually frigates. if your frigates can find cover, and your team kills the other ships, the destro will basicly have no other choice but watch.

having a proxy mortar also helps.

 

i still find alien ships brought way more annoyances, and finally broke the meta completely, without developing a new one at all. you almost have no team play emerging nowadays, and battles feel one sided, alien ships seem to take up 50% of the ship population

whats a normal player? no, thats a bad idea. one solution i could think of is rules or at least hints for building your decks.

i actually wanted to write a deck building guide once, maybe its still a good idea. maybe someone else feels inspired.

unfortunately, the game does not really emphasize on that part of the game also being part of the strategy. every experienced player knows that bringing ships into battle usually means to harmonize them so you can switch in situations.

 

imho more visual feedback in the deckbuilding, saving loadouts, seeing what others bring in squads, etc. would have been things i would have concentrated on long ago.

Players without destroyers equipped in ship slots?

I think something like players with destroyers in ship slots only fight against other players with destroyers in ship slots, not really nescessary use the destroyer in this battle but main condition need one destroyer in ship slots, i don’t think is a bad idea. I don’t understand why destroyer fanboys cry everytime i say this, maybe because they will lost some advantage against players without destroyers??? If you stop and think, nothing will really change. This can easily implement in matchmaker conditions and this is a effective solution for broken ships.

I’m a T5 player, i’m referring a T5 destroyers (i forget to say this before), i don’t know if others destroyers is too powerful like Tyrant, Vigilant and Sirius, maybe not (if not, maybe they don’t need nerf).
