launcherr.dat is a zip file that contains script.nut that in turn contains ::trackerUrl what is a string containing the tracker
I use µTorrent to combine both and create the magnet link.
At least a way to download the client much faster. Usual update via Launcher 3-4h with uTorrent 1h. 2-3h Gaming won. 
I’ll also seed the game via uTorrent for the next view days to speed up the patching.

A magnet links contains very little information. Just enough to talk to the tracker and tell it what torrent it’s talking about. It is therefore no wonder that µTorrent doesn’t know how big that stuff is going to be until it had a chance to ask the tracker about it.
i seem to be doing something wrong, i get intermittent bursts of download in Utorrent using the link provided, though it doesn’t seem to have checked anything in my pc to reduce the amount needing download. am i supposed to aim the download at a specific sub-folder within the (star conflict or star conflict[beta]) folders?
tried stopping and force recheck, seems to have not changed anything, still downloading in very short bursts of almost decent speed.
max so far is 200 for me LOL i normally am at 1.45mbs

Just want to say thanks for sharing those torrents links, much faster then the Client patcher.
Personally i think it is a pity that we have to resort to utorrent and other programs other than the launcher. Personally i would have thought that the devs would do this for patching from the very beggining. Hope to see a change soon, and to play my first game 
200kb/s withh 600mb under my belt so far
The launcher is using libtorrent already. Sadly they forgot the tell us what port to open so clients can actually connect to each other.

1)Open “launcherr.dat” with winrar
2)right click on “script.nut” and select “view selected file”
3)look for “trackerUrl” and copy it
4)Open star_conflict.yup with vuze
5)In download (the torrent is called PC) right click on it and select “Advanced”
6)select “Tracker/torrent”, “add tracker url”, and paste
Now i’m dowloading at 700
Is all of this correct?

Tried it and for me he starts to download the complete client and not only the patch.
Just a post from my perspective:
I downloaded the game just fine with the launcher (when I initially found and downloaded the game(launcher)).
It starts off slow, like any torrent, but quickly I was getting 1mb/s.
Just this morning I downloaded the patch and it took a couple minutes to get to 1mb/s but once it was there I downloaded the 900+mb patch in about 7-20 minutes using the launcher only.
From my perspective, it works fine.
Though, your experience may differ.
As for magnet links I haven’t used one of those since vuze was known as azureus, I use utorrent.
Can someone put a link to the patch? There is no way i am downloading the client again, it took 3 days the last time round :blink:
