Hey! So today, i found out why captains should not have 75% firepower boost. I played in my spark gunship which has 3500+ dps and 27% crit chance. plus 75% boost means 6125+ dps not counting crit. add on another 20% boost for each time i kill someone makes a whopping 7350 dps not counting critical chance. I then activate my module to make 63.3% chance crit. i get 110% boost for crit which gives me a whopping 12000+ damage per second. This is truly rediculous and i melted the other captain’s Fed guard frigate in less than 5 seconds with my missiles too. I didn’t even have to use particle purge.
I move that captains have a 25% boost in firepower and a 20 point resistance boost and a 10% boost in speed and agility.
The 75% damage boost is fine. Gunship is a ship designed for max DPS, but at the cost of maneuverability and speed. Part of being captain is being able to evade attacks as well as rely on the support of your team. Gunship as cap does not make you a one-man army. Gunships are still easily taken down by covert ops or ECMs.

If you car reach the enemy guard cap with a spark and you can kill it the real problem is the enemy team not the cap bonus. The bonus is fine as it is.
nobody thinks it’s op that a single ship can take out the entire 3 man enemy team by himself!?!?!?!? Am i missing something???
You forget that the enemy team you are taking out is probably all n00bs and/or tier-rushers. Try single-handedly taking out a 3-man team made up of the top corps (ESB, Nova, WPK, NASA, OWL, etc.)
Just because it worked once doesn’t mean it will work every time, or even the majority of the time.

The captain should be motivated to act in battle instead of hiding behind the team. A few different bonuses have been tested with the result that the current bonus is the most effective.
