Announcement of patch 0.9.0!

Patch notes are on the [forums](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/20627-star-conflict-obt-v-090/).

CO will have one missile in a clip. Death will reset the CD. But if there are signs to NWII we will make changes.

It’ll happen.  There’s strategy to nukes instead of dropping one in a dogfight.  Some matches already have a half dozen nukes dropped in the first half of the battle.  I might just try to test how many effective nukes I can drop in a domination match.

If you have ships you didn’t use in battle their rocket clips will remain intact. If you used a ship in battle, even though you didn’t use any rockets - the clip will be considered to be ‘used’.

So if you don’t use ammo, it gets used up?  No premium ammo for anyone!

Syndicate Wars, which is clearly the superior title (those who believe otherwise should report to their nearest Confessor and repent their sins).

Actually… if you lived though the Cold War… the Internet existed, it was just used for a different purpose, as in Defence Net Work ^^ well for US at least lol

right, i meant the publicly accessible internet

Looks great on paper gentlemen, looking forward to testing out the new mechanics.

I don’t mind having different weapons for different ship classes, I actually suggested that change on the forums.

I’m okay with unlimited missiles, they have a cool down and after the magazine resets it’s apparently an even longer cool-down. I imagine there won’t be that much spamming with them, unless the cool down is really short. Unlimited mines could be a little crazy though, they need a counter.

No more damage modifiers… interesting, I used those quite a bit. I guess this will force even more team work.

Damage buffs only good for 1 match now? Not sure how I feel about that, they better be cheap.

T5 - Seriously, totally not interested in T5, barely even interested in T3 due to the balance issues. Give us Juggernaughts and more gameplay modes dammit!

The Falcons needs a module name FALCON PUNCH.

It really doesn’t. Because it wouldn’t even handle throwing the punch. That thing looks like it’ll fall to pieces the moment you bring it out of the hangar.

Nah. The only ships that look cool are the Jericho ones and the Dragon. That’s it. The Lion looks like a Frigate and the T-Rex… I don’t even know what to think of that…

All I can say about the current changes is WHY? It seemed perfectly fine before. Thanks for saving me and EVERYONE I have talked to in my corp some money though. Unless I hear about a rollback on the changes I doubt I will ever log in again. It’s ashamed because I realy liked this game and recomended it to alot of people that I will now have to post for them to no bother trying it. It was fun while it lasted. See ya  :(

my thoughts exactly

Guys the changes are good.  The weapons were not balanced before and was quite limited in choices (I was getting pretty tired of using railguns).  Tying weapon to ships is a smart move - it makes balancing much easier.

There is one thing I think should be changed though.  Missile cartridge reload time should be preserved instead of reset upon death.  Right now it almost encourages dying to refresh the missile count.

You could have used plasma or lasers. Each had their benefits, each had their drawbacks.

Aren’t the choices more limited now? No alpha strike weapons on fighters, no close-range defensive weapons on frigates. I don’t actively play intys now so I can’t say about the new inty weapons.

Doesn’t help that the cooldown on the warp gate is still so high. Engies can refresh their warp gates and missiles at the same time :stuck_out_tongue:

Alpha strike weapons:

  • Ceptors: Shrapnel Cannon. Replaces RFR as the current “shotgun to the face” gun.

  • Fighters: Gauss Cannon. Works as the old Hail Plasma, I 1-shotted several Ceptors with it.

  • Frigates: The plasma one, forgot the name. Works as old Hail Plasmas, as well, especially deadly on LRFs. If you can survive for more than 5 seconds, that is.

You don’t have to worry about warp gate cool down anymore, if you know what I mean.

  Alas…

The new hails feel drunk. The gauss cannon is serviceable but still very, very, very meh. There’s no oooomph factor to them.

I’m not against the present pigeonholing; I’m against the loss of choice. We’re all humans, and humans are by nature loss adverse.

Have you tried charging them? <.<
