I do, and taking down a rank 9 or rank 15 takes a similar amount of effort. And, for example, Kalah with a gauss, was doing similar dmg to my Peregrine as Gauss Spark would. If anything was remotly as you said, that Kalah would’ve one shotted me every time.
There might be buffs to active modules, that are too much, just like John said, but buffs to base weapon dmg and resistances hardly make lower ranks much better than higher ranks.
There is a problem with an access to active modules, ~r9-12, especially prems do have a more enjoyable and powerful set of actives than r15+, but that is not due to the rank bonuses as you and many others complain about.

I personally experience the rank buffs mostly on the denfenses, rather than the firepower. It feels not insignificantly easer to survive in an r9 interceptot than in the r15 version.
I do use gauss cannons myself a lot. I found that r7 recons can tank much more shots than the r15 version of that ship.

R7 interceptors are multiple times easier to hit than r15s, due to engine modules

They always were capable of doing this, even before danger zone, matter of time only. Removing rank buffs wont change this.
I do explained earlier that i think bonuses indeed are a little bit high, since r7+ ships after tweaks (+2 module slots) not that much behind in terms of raw stats if we compare them to r12+. Rank buffs putting them ahead, which is absurd yes, but solo dessie kill potential have nothing to do with it.

Thats the problem - that Kalah became Spark in terms of everything but price. I think high rank ships should be better, may be a little bit, but better. Right now they possess less stats and less variability and cost much more to buy and maintain. That kinda the most hardcore and straightforward antigrind/antip2w system i ever saw. New player, if he knows whats up, will just buy Ghost and thats pretty much the best ship in the game in terms of power/price. Motivation to progress in tech tree is gone with those buffs.
Giving r15 ships full array of unique modules instead of removing buffs is way to go through , there i agree 100% with you.
