Wormhole and Microwarp

I’ll suggest some change of visual effects on Wormhole Projector, Microwarp and Reverse Thruster like on the images i’ve posted.

It’s a very cool effect which I saw on the tv show Dark matter, when the ships jump in FTL.  ![:002j:](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/002j.png “:002j:”)

Maybe microwarp could have a visual effect. RT and wormhole are ok aside from the fact that it’s harder to see where the wormhole ship has gone as there is no visual pointing to where it went (only a visual at each end, none in between)

We’re not planning to change current special effects radicaly, maybe improving them from time to time. But your suggestion may become handy for some new technologies ![;)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/002.png “;)”)

It’s quite similar to the current effect of Wormhole Projector, just need to be more saturated, and as RennieAshII said: need to have continuous visual effect from the starting point to the end.

Maybe an upgraded warp that could go through any object, a Mole hole ![:biggrin:](< base_url >/uploads/emoticons/biggrin.gif “:biggrin:”), would be nice with this effect.  Hmm, I like this. Ima going to write a module suggestion.

Well, it already happened on multiple occasions. Once I “fell off” of the Naberia map and could fly around. Another time I stuck inside the station in OS mode. And of course the old classic: getting inside asteroids and rocks. But this all should not happen if it would work as presented here:

You will have plenty of players stucked/inside the textures (some of them doing it in purpose to exploit game mechanics, like avoiding the entire enemy team to warp back in the proper moment/place)…and a continuous effect would mean going through obstacles from time to time when using wormhole (cause you can move after you shoot the ball). The effect trail would look great, but will have vissual issues with wormhole.

Ships would not be able to stuck inside objects because the projectile would determine first if the ship is transported or not. Just like with the wormhole projector. If it hits an object the ship does not jump. In the molehole’s case ship would not jump if the projectile is inside an object… or it would fly only to the object and would stop right next to it. Or the ships could just explode if the tunnel falls inside something. That way some skill would also be required.

Yes, of course. But the effect may have more chance to get into the game along with a new feature than by changing an already existing and functioning one. 

Btw, I could imagine this effect, or at least part of it, for an awesome weapon instead of a warp module.

It would be something more like the energy converter.
