I wanted to level my kite with the 5x bonus. Since it is a Rank9 standard ship it puts me up higher in the queue (Rank9 -11).
But look at what MM thought would be a good idea. My team did its best (I wasn’t so great for various reasons) but the highest SR we had was 1300 the rest had around 1200 and one 1100. So the NERW and the WPK guy each had SR1600 (both flew premium Rank9 which are counted as Rank8) and they were in a squad. We had no quad. Does this makes sense to be matched like this?

skill-based MM is an abomination. don’t punish players for getting good at the game by throwing them with weaker teammates or giving harder mm. skilled players have a right to pwn.
Btw. the other 2 on the enemy team had an SR of 1000. Maybe the bot on the enemy team had an SR of 400 and ours had an SR of 2000. AAhhh that is why they added the bots back in.
how u see the SR for mm when u que, whats the command.
It seems NERW dropped a corp again.
Don’t be surprised he’s at the top of the enemy team’s efficiency. I’d also guess that’s a two man squad so MM couldn’t split them.
Enny, I’m not seeing a better way to match those players. Balance was simply impossible given the situation.

Who’s that guy? I wanted to check his profile following him but bam I’m in his ignore list

Waited longer for more players to better balance it.

I guess you can ask you corp buddy he squad-ed up with.
Teams have never been balanced according to (D)SR to the best of my knowledge. As someone who intentionally drops his rating by 5-600 points semi-regularly I can assure you it never made the slightest difference to who I fight.

so why do you keep dropping your rating ? I see it as waste of time, i float in 1400-1700 range, depending ships i fly, how much sec con i do, what i fly in sec con, and so on. but purposely paying attention to raise/drop my rating is a waste of time, i’d rather play to my best abilities meanwhile. In Star Conflict SR kinda pointless and doesn’t really affect who you are matched with or facing much, but in other games with similar mechanics but more emphasis on rating in matchmaking, trolling down your rating to get into easier game called smurfing (better name pedobears), i could never understood those.

What you meant to say is Itachi sucks badly given his previous DSR or 1980 ish
I try not to point fingers… but yes.
On the other hand, NERW was with his 1450ish the by far more dangerous pilot…
I’ve seen NERW sometimes, I think he used to play a lot more than he does now.
I also remembered that he was mentioned long ago by Zap and used google to find the post. NERW’s dangerous.
so why do you keep dropping your rating ?
Mainly because of CR to get a break from captain selection (which has changed for the moment).
Second reason is because most kill squads and other rating farmers select targets based on rating, so after trolling SR down I get two or three battles where I do not have constant 4+ locks on me from the start and can go on a rampage. In particular the first battle after dropping SR is a guaranteed maniac medal plus typically some sweet tears via PM from whichever rating farmers I took down a huge notch with my ~1100 rating. It’s cheap thrills I admit.
an SR 1200 vs 1600 is a big difference. There are those who intentionally keep them low but at some point if goes up again because they still want to kill.
Sr besides ship rank is the only thing that carries weight in MM now so if SR is useless why MM is supposed to use it? Why not just throw everyone in one big queue and let it sort itself out.

Thats pretty much how it is right now, from the looks of it, hence why i said SR is useless for your games.

It goes back up very fast actually. It typically takes me 2-3 battles to go from 1100 to 1300, and another 4-6 to end up above 1500 again. They removed the caps on synergy gain in both directions so you can easily go 100+ points in either direction in a single battle now.
Well I guess the game shows more and more the 2 option way. Play or not to play. Because the players have no control over anything. The Devs decide how the matches are gonna be like.
I couldnt give a damn about skill rating. Ive never gotten above 1400, yet i fly with 1600 rating tillowaty and can nearly equal him at times.(just dont make me fly ceptors)
So? What does that mean? I’m equal to the guys with SR 1600?
This thread is about match making and MM using or ignoring SR. Which leaves to the conclusion that there is not actual MM besides ship rank.
I met that guy in game yesterday ! Hes a hell of a pilot, we fought a couple of battles against each other and then decided to make a squad. Since no one else from WPK was online, I played with him about 25 games.
