We need Exclusive loot

Loot from Aliens atm is very prone to griefing…

You can do all the hard work fighting aliens solo and get the kill, but before you can get close enough to loot the drop somebody else who took no part in fight rushes in to steal it…

But it gets worse, If you do manage to start collecting the loot, they can ram you to push you away, the impact stops them near the loot and they can take it before you can turn around and get back.

.

What we really need is a exclusive loot system, ie when a container drops, everyone who had a ‘significant’ impact on the fight can loot the container once each.

… if you took part but was not a ‘significant’ impact (ie join late did only tiny bit damage) then you get to loot crate but will get a much smaller reward (maybe few credits).

… If you not contribute at all, you get nothing at all.

This will get rid of the loot griefing from kills.

What i would like to have.

2 ways.

  1. If opponent steals YOUR loot he becomes criminal and his resistances are reduced by 300 pts. For 10 sec (Kill, Kill, Kill)

  2. If you kill smth, the loot is claimed to you for 20 sec so that nobody can pick it up except you let it there.

2nd suggestion is more realistic but the 1st is way more funny!

I do agree with the idea in the OP, although I think the loot drops should be spawned client side (so everyone has a chance to grab the loot) as this has happened too often to me.

I however no nothing in programming, so I have no clue how hard it would be to put that into the game.

happened to me this week i was fighting a hunter with a friend me in my naga and my friend in his t-rex mk 2 and once he poped a recon came in looted the rare hunter drop and ran away …

I have only 1 thing to say for this:

Crybabies.

fine, next time we see you in a tough fight with aliens, we will steal your loot, and we follow you everwhere and just watch you do all the hard work while we get your loot… that be fun.

Then i’ll kill you guys. Nobody is stealing my corpmates’ loot. Remember that.

station protection sorry you can’t kill us :-p

Plus if they in fast enough ship, ideal for stealing chance are they can get your loot and escape before you can even target them.

this is why i say the loot stealing is a grief issue that need to be addressed

1st - To steal Syrinx’ loot you’ve to be in a dangerous sector.

2nd - You can’t escape.

If you want to comensate the griefed loot go and grief loot.

Simple.

If i need loot, i go and kill some players, some of them drop very valuable stuff.

First of all i was not being hostile to you or your friend, it was merely a point I was making, so they certainly no need to be defensive about it.

Secondly aliens attack anywhere, not just danger zones.

Thirdly, this is about exploiting a system where people can steal the loot from your hard work, without risk … aka safe zones.

Forthly, people can actively stop you from looting the container by simply ramming you.

Finally, when you been a victim of being griefed, you tend to start doing the same to other, which then spiral out of hand and creates a very unpleasant game of who can grief better.

PvP zones is one thing, griefing is another matter entirely

PvP = competative play, can be fun and fustrating, but thats the risk

Grief = destroy fun, and often leads to most people quitting potentially good game, and when too many quit the game dies, many games have died out due to too much griefing.

.

don’t forget we talking alien loot kills here not player kills.

But this might be annoying in general, we already had such threads.

And you’re right.

Not only for alien loot.

Maybe the guy / the squad who killed the mob get the loot claimed for 1 minute and has enough time to pick it up instead of lose it to some random fgts with station protection.

Don’t worry Omega wasn’t upset he’s just screwing around. Now on the subject, i think Invasion mode is aiming to be a sandbox, the idea is that you SHOULD be able to do all the stuff. The stealing and the murdering and the alliances whatever. There’s no point if you start making individual loot. Just try to find solutions for the problem, if it’s actually a problem.

In one hand I agree that as a “sandbox” there should be no or very few rules, so stealing should be ok. But just like Andrew Ryan I hate parasites that benefit from your hard work while doing nothing.

Thanks for the input - forwarded to Devs

That was me probably. I find quite profitable to just steal other people loot.

Also, some of them are fool enough to try to kill me, so I also get their stored loot when I kill them.

I support the idea of making you aggresor if you steal other people loot ( loot that you didn’t get any damage on him ) It will be great to bait carebears into a fight.

I love how expecting to be rewarded for actually doing something makes you a ‘carebear’. I’m guessing you don’t feel the need for a job.

I already have a job. This is a game, not a job. And carebears are PvE players who usually complains about any kind of pvp / piracy / grief.

I don’t see anything wrong about stealing other people loot. That is the reason I kill only dangerous zones pirates. If somebody steal my loot, he will die.

So complaining about griefing is a bad thing now? You know griefing is generally frowned upon for a reason, not the least of which is that it’s potentially against the rules, depending on the game and the type of griefing.

Seriously, is “stop being an arsehole” really such a huge ask for the “hardcore” members of this community?

Griefing is against the rules if involves some kind of real life threat or real life money. “griefing” drop loot is allowed, since by default the loot don’t have owner. Technically it is not “griefing” just being faster than the other guy.

Undeniably this will be very fun, but it makes tackler sentry farming a little inconvenient. If I killsteal by mistake with my sentry (i.e. someone’s target got in range of my sentry) that dude shouldn’t have to face the wrath of my sentry. Not that the sentry is dangerous to begin with, but it’s not nice.
