You know that waiting screen you get where you select ships and look at other peoples ships while in battle? Well I propose the option to switch between cheesy 3-D model that’s all blue, like it is now, and the old screen that actually showed the texture and colour of the map’s objects.
It seems easy enough. Option in settings.

It shows the map before you get to that loading screen. After triangulation, it tells you which map you are playing on.
On the note of the ugly mono-chrome map in the loading screen, it is in the settings for the game. You can turn off the monochrome map.
You can select which kind of map you want to see. Full rendered color map or blue wireframe.
After so much time I have just adapted to the blue wireframe, and I prefer it to the color one.

I am being literal I want a map name at the loading screen.
I play other games work or walk around my house with my headset while I am waiting in queue.
It is VERY rare that I see anything before what I consider as the loading screen.
I’ll just look for another post and +1 it, or make one of my own.

I turned off monochrome map and the game is more inviting

It’s is settings > game or something. A check box. Look through the settings you lazy pilots!!
Ikr. I found out how to do this like 15min after posting this. Just wanted to wait and see what the comments would be like. XD
