Vulpanium Lance [Missile]

Lore: The once thought to be dead corporation “Planetary Dynamics” recently has started to dabble in alien technology. Though one might think of those green and black tentacle-monsters, these aliens are actually far more ancient by an estimated 3 billion years or so. A scout team was out scavenging for spare parts close to the Pandora Anomaly when their scanners started picking up immense amounts of noise. Upon investigation of the source of the interference, it was revealed to be a massive chunk of orange crystal that was jetting out from a nearby asteroid. The scouts did their best to extract it, but because of the crystals they had to manually navigate back to the dreadnought. As they neared the starship, their hails for entry were not heeded. A scrambled signal was received from the dreadnought and it started firing on them. The observing captain saw a glint off the side of the approaching vessels and recognised it as their own emblem. He called for a cease-fire and let them enter. The crystals had to be contained immediately upon entry, as they were burning up the onboard computers with their immense energy output. Upon further testing it was seen that they could not be contained in Iridium casing as the two materials would flare up upon getting close. This feature was rather interesting to the onboard scientists, who swiftly took samples from the crystals and began tests. Their experimentation revealed several useful factors to these strange crystals. Their energy emissions were off the charts and their reactive capabilities put out enough energy to power an entire planet! This information was taken to the captain and they immediately begun preparations for construction. They were going to be the first to have an alien reactor core. Progress was continuing as planned until one of the crystals was struck with charged particles from their old core. It immediately flared up and fired a massive beam of energy through their hull. It burnt through all but two of their outer layers, sparing the crew on-board. This amazing action was observed by none other than their military general, who made haste to speak with the scientists. With the observed information and the remaining crystals, a compact weapon was created that would surround a polished crystal with warp energy. This resulted in a magnificent, and controlled, beam of energy being fired. The corporation made haste to mine out as many of the crystals as possible, and now are selling blueprints for these mechanisms to rich mercenaries. The corporation has since continued in their research of these crystals and plans on releasing several other systems to aide in exploration and military efforts across the galaxy!

instant beam

No.  You could kill almost any fighter with an instant beam that deals 11k damage, that’s even more powerful than a pyro emitter, which has a charge up and distributes its damage in several “ticks”.

It is AoE is it not? Does instant damage like that kit scale with ship size as well? (But regardless, yeah it does deal a little too much damage.)

The problem is that the missile does all its damage in a single burst, and you cannot predict where and if the laser is going to you. It needs a charge time or a duration, or both.

Fixing…

Fixed.

I was writing a reply saying that the charge time is too small, but then I thought about how powerful anomaly generator is… It deals around 20k damage in a pretty big radius, so this missile is fine now.

I just thought of something:

Imagine a Lance being used directly in line with a destroyer. It would devastate it if it actually hit. XD

(Though that dessy would pretty much have to be not moving for it to work.)
