The Vulcan Cannon is an excellent weapon and I love everything about it, especially how you get it rarely after battles. Though there are a few things that just don’t seem right about it. Here they are:
-
Overheating. Instead of overheating, since it is a minigun-style weapon meant to limit heat stress on the barrels, it should not overheat. Instead, it should use “ammo” displayed on the weapon’s icon on the HUD. 3000 rounds seems decent enough for a clip. After the ammo has run out, it should take a while to reload, to give for more tactical use of the weapon, and to make it feel like it’s actually a new model of an old gun.
-
Instant RoF. It should not instantly be able to fire at maximum RoF. Instead, it should have a medium wind-up time to full RoF much like the Rk’Rah.
That is all.

Look, this weapon is an upgraded version.
1.) You don’t really need ammo for it. Overheat meter is enough. However, it would be cool, that you would get some smoke out of those barrels or at least some visual effect, when your weapon overheats.
2.) Well, that’s debatable. This weapon is futuristic. I see no problem with maximum fire rate. It’s actually good that we have something different, but get your point.
IMO the spread is way too high.
No weapon became my fav so fast as the vulcan did, i have no problem with it. What you are asking for may a bit too old for a space shooter lol.
Vulcan base heating time = 12 seconds
Vulcan rps (per individual turret) = 430
3000 divided by 430 is approximately seven seconds of fire,
while these suggestions are cool, they are effectively nerfing the weapon,
how about this:
-the weapon can fire indefinitely. (since it doesn’t overheat, and there is an auto-loading mechanism)
-the weapon has a spin-up effect.
-the weapon consumes 50 energy with every second that it is firing. (as to prevent people from just taping the LMB down)
