Vigiliant "Vaccum Laser" Serious Damage Nerf NEEDED

Earlier, I was in a battle with one of my other accounts “NotSoYummyTummy” and encounterd a Vigilant 6789m away from me I kid you not I died in 3 seconds. With adaptives and 40% thermal resistance base. I asked him “What the xxxx, how…” he replies “22.5k dps, 9k vaccum+80% boost and 15% range and crits” I am one of 6900th best pilots in this game(It’d be alot lower if I bought basic ships ![;)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/002.png “;)”) ) and I know that 22.5 almost 23k dps is way to fking high by a loooooooooooooooong shot. Destroyers got a damage reworked damage output and I am sitting here wondering… what? 9000 damage per hit normal… how… I just gave up. There is a limit Gaijin, this litterly breaks it. Peroid. I reported him for Exploting Game Bugs. I will not play this game anymore unless that is fixed, you cant just let that slide. He had 32 kills in a rank 15 PvP battle. Just think about that. 

You should check your facts before spouting such BS.

Reso laser gets maybe ~6500 DPS max at around 6k range. Pair with 80% bonus from stabilizer and you get maybe 10-11k DPS. Nowhere near your highly exaggerated “22.5k DPS”.

And is your destro so horribly tanked that you get killed in THREE seconds? Christ.

Well, tbh i do 17k dps on people with mediocre resistances (that means they have positive resist on thermal but slightly under 50%) on a 4,6k range. It’s a crit/damage built vigilant with somewhat okay hull resistances, no range bs others are doing, thats kinda boring.

Not 17k DPS at “9k” range though.

At that range tops 12k maybe a bit more but thats it. Minus the usual 50% resists, u end up dealing 5-6k dps at that range but it’s difficult to score a proper hit due to laser mechanics, they are built for mid range to close not long range by default afaik.

I am so sick of these spacial stabilized long range Vigilants right now. Why don’t you just directly remove fighters and frigs? Would be easier.

However, I agree that ridiculous damage like that with a hitscan with such a high DPS is absolutely ridiculous and needs a nerf. In fact, destroyers should have no laser.

Yeah 22k dps in survival mode?

3 seconds is a long shot unless you had a crap destroyer or were not going at adaptive speed. Check combat log to see if you actually took 100% damage from him.

I can vapourise destroyers in survival with the laser,  especially when they don’t use static shields.

His 22.5k “dps” if not in survival mode, is probably the 1s tick . And wouldn’t be from 9k etc

I don’t know why are you guys complaining so much… you can just hide from a destroyer, especially if he uses that static thing. So far I’ve had a bunch of T5 battles since the vigilant came out and I gotta say, not much changed. I still get some nice games with 15 / 10 / 0 stats. I think ignoring such a feature is the way to go. And if you are in another destroyer… well then its your own fault, you shouldn’t have constructed one.

Fighter with “command” phaser or any otehr with sing. Inties with the ska_ra(LMG thingy gun gun). Beacon denial comes from everywhere.

get the hell out 2.2km or so form him. you wont bother saying that. Aslo kinda pointless to Plasma Arc a Vilante. His modules are way too far appart for it to be effective.

Then give us a real freacking cannon. Like main gun in trak trek star wars or w/e spaceship movies. Anyway the whole ship is too freaking OP for almost everyone that talk about it. Hell if i dont hide like 90% of the Vigilante does, i dont last much longer than my Antares(Vigi ain’t maxed yet) but dish alot more dmg. Just removes his mines too. invisible and can put’em all over the map + hybrid missile(drone) and gravi lens. Say hello to the power of the Death Star. IF That laser really is a problem. Just scrap it like they did for the frigate laser that is now only barely uselful on an LRF

And then, If the guy, i saw one, SPECIALMUTANT or something in NASA with this long range build.Has 9km or so range. that means his crit go way down, damage go down. He prolly have no engine at all, or 1 for cooler. no shield at all. There is cover all over the map, Too. Destroyers have to be more powerfull, what the point of have a ship that big otherwise. + new years gun that does great dmg against dd’s.

I get the original poster. I got a taste of it too. BUT PLEASE dont scrap vigilante 3 full months of grind worth that OPness.

Also, If long range is the problem, btw vigilante ain’t the only one.

Positrons too can reach that even the laser blaster of dd’s and others. Pretty sure we can do it with command phaser, plux phaser too. So just remove the ability to put more than 1 horizon module. Having more than one give the others 0% effectiveness. Or just a “Cannot use more than one of this module at the same time” in the description.

The more i think, the better this idea seems. You know,when half the maps are small as frak you spawn and the ennemies already are shooting at you from their spawn and sometime further behind their spawn and still shoot your spawn. That i always dislike, 1-2 for quick competitive match, ok. But that many small map. We are in space not in a call of duty where maps look like sardine cans, us being tight togeter like sardines.

Final note on that ou of subject, map disscussion. Maybe just change where we spawn on those maps, so we dont get direct line of fire.

The thing that I dislike the most is how easy it is. Playing a Vigilant with long range lasers is like a point and click adventure. A command with a phaser or a positron lrf has to get reasonably close to deal more significant damage. Both the command and the lrf are at risk to getting jumped by enemy ships. The destroyer on the other hand has double the range, at least four times the damage and it cant get jumped. Because it has a bazillion hitpoints. Also, many maps are somewhat “open” in a manner, that such a ship can reach most key objects without moving his armored arse.

Pure BS. 5km range is the max base, if you don’t use very specific close range weapons, it’s hardly 40% more compared to other weapons.
Four times the damage?
If we ignore the anti-dd weapons, most classes has ~80% or more the dps vs. dessy. So no 4x. Way not.

BTW, for those who are reading, the proper way of fully arcing a destro is running alongside of the destro burning away the modules, like, slowly proceeding from back to front of the destro with a great timing and execution, not just slam into the engines and wait. 

Just like carving. Not just dumb ram the knife into it. And you have to KNOW where the modules are placed to know the best way to execute the knife. Sometimes a knife from the front(even very dangerous) is very useful.

And sometimes a knife from the front gets scrapped in less than 2 seconds^^
