Vigilant shows no sign of contest against the other t5 destroyers

The only time an empire destroyer should use a shield slot is to fit a compact shield generator. Any other use is simply a waste. In terms of tanking shields are non existant, and the energy regen you may get from implant R7 will vanish as soon as you get attacked, so you run out of juice in the moments you need it. On the other hand, increasing shield regen means you will get hits more often, dealing dmg to hulls which have a much smaller hitbox; this is important since you can cover your ship easily without shields when using static shields, but more important even: you can avoid some explosive attacks when having hulls only thanks to static shields (and not when having shields up), I.E.: Halo launcher shots.

Great explanation. This is why I talk to Orca as he brings to light things I didn’t really think about. Funny thing is that I even knew that when my shields are down I avoid a lot more hits.

To sum it up:

High survivability(for non bs ships/weapons).

High damage(stab).

High accuracy(laser).

Do the other destroyer use stab? If not, why not nerfing it?

If yes, than laser need to be nerfed.

It’s both. 

It was obvious that it’d be OP when they gave stabilizer a power up so HUGE. 

I mean come on, it’s 4 times more effective then before!

Stabilizer needs a serious nerf. It should be at most 40% buff, not 80%.

 

And this goes for Vacuum beam too. 

Vacuum have nearly the best base DPS, best range, and with instant point and click damage. 

Reduction vacuum dps by 10% should be enough.

why do you need aim assist when touching something for less than a second dies immediately?

I would put the damage bonus at +25%, increase the range bonus to +20%, and add a projectile speed bonus of atleast +25%.

and we agree that theres a lot of dmg comming from…80% bonus? Try the laser without stabilizing field and go for fast interceptors, good luck.
