Playing this Vigilant I often saw Sirius and even Antares equipped with shields could simply ignore me and provide better support for their team because of their mobility. Yes it feels Vigilant has some op dmg but if you nerf it, Vig will become totally useless - remember it can’t equip Jericho regen or Fed speed special module
may be its not the dps , the main problem but may be the range and accuracy from the lazer ![;)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/002.png “;)”)
a destroyer is not a lrg sniper , many game in T5 i see Vigilant out range of ennemie weapon ( all above 2500-45000 ) from ship that can down the destroyer .
so what happen often , a vigilant can stand out of range from all encounters ships and kill every thing at 8000m on 1-2 sec ( max 3 sec ) hit , a bit insane no …?
in other way , a vigilant can’t be like as a heavy tank dps lrg ( my 2ct’) ^^
give vacuum beam a spread like pulse, and here you go.
Yes very reasonable, we must show how those poor souls that hold guns on destroyer hull shaking from cold of space - other explanation for laser speard I don’t have. I you want so eager nerf gun on ship that bearly move and cant efectively regenerate hull, perhaps we limit federation speed to 200 on afterburner and roll to max 28, and on jericho max shield regen will be limited to 350-400?
WRONG . . . no you cannot. Here is a video of 3 cov ops plasma arking a dessy (with half the EHP as a vigilant) at the same time. Heck in the same video there are 4 plasma arking at the same time and the t3 dessy didn’t die.
50% shield and 75% hull left when being plasma arked by two cov_ops at the same time. Right after our plasma came back we did it again the two of us (north south) thats 4 plasma ark with 45% -50% hull left. (yes our tips touched . . . I m ok with it.)
At 4:40 there is 3 at the same time, with 10-15% shield remaining and 60-75% hull remaining. YOU SIR ARE WRONG.
You said : " covert ops can deal around 40% of the vigilant’s total hull " “I can 1v1 a vigilant fairly fine,” in a cov ops. . . no sir you cannot you are lying. Unless the vigilant player has both arms removed, both legs removed and smells like tuna and uses flippers because they are a f*ycking Dolphin.
you CAN… if… you break all its things; you need to squeeze inside the destroyer’s shield and aim at its modules, it only hits the hull; an average vigilant has 190k hull points, thrusters 30k~, special module 30k~, and all active modules (28k on average) in one plasma arc which equals to around 40%. but realistically, you’ll hit only the engine and special module for 60k. which is still a good chunk;
and recently I did manage to eat through a vigilant with thermoactive weapons. I could hit on average 4k crit hits and with the help of a well-placed black hole I had no problem, but on the other hand I won barely scratched because for some reason he was busy with other targets. but same thing happened with a more competent pilot and had no issues as long as I kept my static shields up and didn’t get gobbled up by his black hole.
but like who I originally quoted. yes, its impossible to get out alive with a vigilant kill in a covert ops. or tyrant with that matter is possible but his teammates will come to finish you off.
So if enemy team has 3 Vigilants on the field it means clean win for them? I tend to disagree. I have to say it took some thinking how to solve this tactical situation (and no - taking destroyers wasn’t a solution), but as you can see even our engie survived the whole game. Few days ago somehow my R10 lrf got caught in R15 match and Aggressor on his Vigilant wasn’t too happy about this ![:)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/001j.png “:)”) So - is vigilant powerful - yes. Tanky? Absolutely - that’s Empire ship. Is it OP enough to win the battles by herself? Nope. Still needs good pilot to do so.

Of course having a Vigilant doesn’t mean instant win – it’s ridiculously strong, but a few pilots flying them can’t beat a 4-man squad of top tier players. The problem is that not every game is this stacked – and, after all, what happens when the top tier players take the Vigilant?
Player xXxJackalxXx completely dominates a game like many vigilant players. Nailing ships from 7-8K, kills ships faster than any dps I can do in my covops.
What’s important in these screen shots is the win ratio, kills per match, assists everything goes up because of the ship. I m not saying this doesn t require skill. There is alot of skill involved. But you would think your kill average and win ratio should stay around the same regardless of which ship you chose. . . gradually getting better the more you play. Not instantly once you get that top teir ship.
Tbf Aggressor lately is a bit rusty. I always admired him and I can see he is getting kinda “less op” in his last appearances.
I faced him yesterday. He didn’t do so great.
Well, part of the reason why he didn’t do so great is because I had fun troubling him with Thar ga. But still, I expected a bit more from him using such an OP weapon.

Skill is always one of the number in the equation. 3 medium guys against decent pilots with anti destros fits is a win unless other players in enemy team are op.

I can say that without shame , one year ago when I saw him in my enemy team: I was scared.
Now he is trying a lill bit less harder I guess. Dunno, I still respect him but he could try harder.
