Yes they are great for slowing, but I’m using missiles to increase my damage output to ensure kills and they have very low damage output. Slowing enemies down isn’t typically a concern to me on a recon since there are tacklers all over the place anyway. I don’t play SQ.
Slowing missiles remove adaptive shield buffs. There really isn’t any other choice for a recon.

to be fair, it is not as useful in T3 solo, but otherwise this is invaluable tool for any competent squad running a Recon
I’m solo rec(k)oning in T4 these days, but most of my targets are not using adaptive shields correctly anyway so that’s not really a relevant point. There was this “guide” thread here the other day about flying backwards in a dogfight and I see even a lot of interceptors do that.
Don’t get me wrong, slowing missiles are awesome. I’ve used all kinds of missiles and the mines on and off but I keep coming back to piercing missiles because the end up being the most effective to my personal way of playing, that’s all.

I hate using adaptive shield. It’s only on my Sai and I’m not committed to it but shields lack an all resists module, plus it boosts hull. I strafe too much when I’m not trying to GTFO to let it be of real use. Then there’s going backwards, etc. Different people have different flight strategies. Adaptive shield barely suits mine.
I have Adaptive shields at all ships with shield slot. Its better then other useless shield’s modules
For interceptors it is no brainer, even for fed fighters and frigates. But for the rest, the lack of acceleration and the usual cover hopping make it useless, and a patch of the EM hole is way better.
2)If not…Bloody hell…why all of my ceptors look like boats among waves and take ages to accelerate or point the right direction skiding and swerving like a car on the snow…? (And i usually use vernier and strafe mods on engines slots on all of my fed ints)
It is that coz i’ve never seen less than 50 ping on my pc and there i can se ping around 10-12…?

If your view of the back of the ship changes, it’s basic mode.
My guess is using the turn left and turn right key binds. I can’t see his cursor, but that’d be my guess. I’m tempted to change Q and E to turning instead of rotate just to try to use that boost in skill. I have nothing free on my mouse, and my keyboard’s WASD area is getting cramped.

Well turn left or turn right are useless in combat coz they just change your ship position for screen capturing pictures…
Those command just rotate ships while your camera is stuck, and once u leave the keyboard key the ship returns to original position…so they r useless in combat…
Analyzing that video i can assume that it’s all about ping… Even a ping around 50 is a massive difference in doghfight when u r fighting vs an enemy with 10-12 ping…Maximum ship simply follow cursor and mouse movement… when u got high ping in dogfight lag makes the ship follows your mouse with delay so u go for a uturn and ship is still pointing somewhere else, and when ship turns you already did something else ansd so on… that simply makes your interceptor like floating among waves taking ages to accelerate or to turn and ecc…
No RIP! They’re still good, I didn’t believe it at first, but on CO they still work thanks to Orion damage boost.
Thanks for uploading your videos in English forums by the way.
Shotguns better againts frigates. Shotguns have a nice advantage because deal kinetic damage. But with plasmagan Its no need to increase accuracy. You can install in CPU only damage modules. And it increase total DPS very good. Shotguns have about 10-15% better damage.
