EDIT: On a more related note - upvoted Coalition’s OP. I think it’s a necessary evil in at least T5, where only experienced people should play. T4, debatable, but I can see why it could be a thing.

We got almost our entire EU fleet absorbed by OWL, and our US team has never been incredibly active. Although the lack of competition really has driven NASA into the depths of inactivity.

At this point the US player base of OWL has either gone inactive or joined LAIR for the same reasons (and most of the EU population has stopped playing). There isn’t any competition in US time anymore. The only dread activity is LAIR taking sectors by fighting BEASTs, pubs, or bots (with the occasional attack by some RU corp that gets up way too early/stays up way too late). Something needs to happen to get some activity going in the US region again.
But, to be perfectly honest, this game is dying (at least in US region). The US playerbase is lower than ever, competetive gamemodes don’t have time slots in US time, or are inconvenient for most US players, and there is no advertisement to try to boost the US population. Personally, I’m not gonna play much anymore (at least not until destroyers come out, hopefully that will bring back some US players).
