Unlock crews and career rewards with fleet strength, not ship rank.

I like star conflicts rewards for progression, but receiving them by ranking up just encourages players to rush straight towards rank 15.

 

So how about unlocking them through fleet strength instead?

 

  • Players could still tier rush if they wish, but it would be reduced and all players would have a good understanding of all ship roles.

 

  • More players would stick around in lower tiers to max out their ships which might help new player retention.

 

  • Battles against veterans would be fairer due to access to an additional crew earlier in the game - for example receiving an extra crew at fleet strength 25 or 30?

 

  • There would be more incentive to play PVP, therefore more PVP matches - which I still assume is the main reason people download star conflict.

 

  • And obviously, players who synergize their ships will have a healthy synergy boost by the mid tiers - so they’ll be less likely to drop out due to the grind.

 

An extra incentive might be to add a credit discount to the next ship in the tree if the previous ship is fully synergized.

The credits saved would also allow newer players to use ‘additional devices’ more often in PVP, which would make fighting against rich veterans (who always use devices) fairer.

I can see this working. It would also go well with the new broker missions and the use of maxed ships.

 

Many newbie rank rusher don’t even use implant setting changes due to their lack of understanding about its importance or mechanics.

I have about 15 ships, the others I’ve sold. 

It’d be a pain to grind it all back just to get my implants back. So unless there is that compromise, No.

Short term reward. I needed the credits :smiley:

The other side is that I sold ships, so I could rush to T5 even faster for long term gain, but… That habit never really ended, so now I only have the ships I want, among others I’m going about getting. I’m thinking about buying back each ship starting from T2.

I also sold modules I never really intended to use, but I should have probably stored them instead.

I played in T2 for most of the time, so as soon as the devs patched it again and again removing my favorite ships and making them weak T3’s…I didn’t want to suffer through the T3 that I despised so very much at the time, so I made it as painless as possible and went straight for the end-game. 

Especially since T4 is just a weak version of T5. I was into Regenerative builds even while I was only in T2 :smiley:

This suggestion makes no sense and penalize just newbies.

Either you make it so high, that you need many premiums(in buyer like WoT) or make it just so grindy as hell.

On the other side you make it so low, that it doesn’t make sense at all.

Sorry to ‘penalize’ rushers, you make it just way to hard for anyone else except the current elite ones.

So it’s more harming as useful.

Current rank system is one of the key things in SC ballance. It’ll be totally another game with such radical change.
