Uninstalling the game, you guys screwed up way too hard

  1. The camera issues makes flying frigates pointless since you cant see anything. You cant judge distance and you have a 30% field of view at best. Pathetic.

  2. Looting is a joke. 10% chance to get an item? I only get 4 attempts at looting to start with and 1 of them is probably not going to yield anything, 1 will yield scrap and maybe 2 will yield items. 10% chance for each item? This is the biggest slap in the face Ive ever seen. Even if I paid real money for this scam I would only have a 30% chance; this is worse than playing the slots at a casino.

lets also take a look at the other flaws of this game that were ignorable up until now because at least you were able to progress, even if slowly.

  1. T4 ships repairs are so out of touch with reality its not even funny. Now that we only get 10-15k per T4 item (since 90% of the time it fails) I am making 220k per match. Repairing my ship and restocking will eat up 150k of this amount leaving me with nothing to progress with.

  2. There are no maps. T4 PVE is shipyard and dreadnought, that’s it. Over and over and over again all for nothing now since the item take home rate is 10%. I have played more than 20 hours of just these two T4 maps and only received a single experimental module…and it was for T3. Even if the drops were 100% experimental it would be a huge tease because with 10% whats the point? Am I supposed to play for 20 hours for a 10% chance at that experimental? ALl thats left are garbage military modules which were unusable by my ships 90% of the time even before we were screwed.

  3. There is no T4 PVP. As stated in another thread I often have to wait over 30 minutes for a PVP match vs bots/team of corp members. This is unacceptable.

Long story short, I have uninstalled the game and you have lost another (paying) member.

The current loot system is surprisingly familiar to the gambling mechanics of Pachinko parlors. Only, in this case, you don’t get any money back.

A better system would have had using actual money to make the salvaging 100% (since they’re the ones supporting the game anyway, right? Right?) and then having a scaling system for success rates through currency, where you pay more (sometimes much more) for a higher success rate (10%, 20%, 50%, etc.)

good luck elsewhere

you should get 100% chance when you use standarts to loot. But they should raise the price.

And for god sake increase the chance on use no standarts to 20ish

Yep. I WANT A REFUND!

I just bought the elite pilot pack AND the galaxy explorer pack 2 days ago. what a waste of money!!! I would rather pay someone to clip their toe nails for them.

24 hours ago, this was my favoutrite game. Now… i dont know i guess i’ll go play diablo fricken 2.

I can’t believe the devs managed to ruin their own game in one patch.

I’m just angry because i payed real, hard earned cash into this game only to have a big fecal dump splashed all over my face.

the game was fine. everything was fine. the only single gripe i had was t3/4 repair bills were too high.

but now?..

the new frigate camera view is HORRIFIC.

That is all i was able to see, because the game crashed every 2 minutes.

and now…

the game wont launch because it says D3D failed.

SO… if i use the updated nvidia drivers, i cant play the game anymore, and even if i could, the game sucks now. I dont want to play.

I

WANT

REFUND

I agreed with Aninfinity with point 1 and 2. Even with my tackler the camera is very bad.

I would like to point out, that the money reward for the “broken” greenies and purples is like x5 more than if it was just grey. You now “see” greens and purples way way WAY more often, but “get” them still maybe with the same(ish) likelihood like before.

It is all in your head, learn math and psychology.

If you do the math; you now get MORE money as a reward in looting, as the broken items reward like x5 more than the regular greys.

(Or is it just for me?)

@ Fronx

Would you rather see experimental loot once a week and have it guaranteed and be happy about it or see it like every second day and rage that it didn’t work again, no matter if you paid gold for it or not? Cuz I think that the answer to this is obvious.

We rage enough because of other fatal changes Gaijin throw at us, we don’t need new rage generator implemented.

I know it’s all in my head and I know maths and psychology, but I don’t play computer games as an exercise in transcending my neurology to reach enlightenment; if I wanted that I’d spend my evenings meditating instead. I play computer games for gratification, and this doesn’t provide it.

Experimental loot once a week - every week sounds like everyone would eventually have easily  all out purples, so sounds way too inflated and makes blue items + sub-faction reputation quite useless.

Even if your “every week” was just an example to make the point, I’d rather take current (new) system. Previous system was OK too, but current has added bonus; (a lot?) more loot income from the broken greens / purples.

Quite obviously I take the system that gives more money compared to old one, while agreeing with common sense that a system that makes certain game concepts broken would be a bit damaging to the game (like purples too often would be).

Surely I would say that person whom pays gold for the higher ‘extract the loot’ -probability doesn’t know the value of money or has too much of it (please send me some of it too!), but on the other hand, I do agree that the company has a right to try to gain some money in order to pay the bills to keep the game going. I personally wouldn’t have done that part like they have now done it, but I see no problem in the general concept, as people are not forced to pay that.

Surely some tweaking could be required.

Only really big problem with current system is PvE: I would say there the “guaranteed green / purple” we got accustomed to should be still guaranteed. Because now only reason to play PvE seems to be lessened maintenance costs (as generally there is less deaths). Quite dull.

Plenty of people in successful businesses have discovered that it is often not what you do, but how you do it. JCPenny’s were a prime example; they went out of their way to remove the liar’s culture that American retail had built up, and it bit them in the backside because people would rather pay $50 for an “on sale” item that ‘should’ be $100 than just be told “it’s always $50 and we never intended to sell it at $100.”

Gamewise, it seems Gaijin have flunked basic psychology. Even if the loot rates are identical now to what they were, they do not feel as rewarding. The rule is simple; never ever punish the player.

Case in point: I watched a review where the developers talked about their game and its three classes. Their description was “every class can do everything, but they get bonuses in their respective roles.” Note the wording here. They did not say “We took away Piloting and Engineering skills from the Gunner so he’ll focus on Gunning.” No, instead they told us that every class is equally good at all roles, but has one where they are really good.

The loot system used to work the same way. The “No loot” was a mistake that should never have been included, but otherwise it was fine - we were conditioned to expect ‘grey’ loot that was turned into cash, so when a green or purple loot item popped up we were doubly excited. It felt like something special, and we liked it that way.

Now, getting items does not feel special. There isn’t even a feeling of satisfaction when we do successfully extract it. Why? Because already we are being conditioned to expect disappointment. Seeing a green or purple now means “prepare to be ripped off.” It does not get me excited for the loot drop.

The loss of PvE’s purple loot square is also a big hit. You have taken away one of the most reliable ways to bring a ship “up to tier”, and I doubt you’ll get many positive comments at all regarding that change.

Lol when they destroyed the game for I got told to “harden the xxxx up” and now everyone just agrees basicly? lol.

Oh well, I have said before that they only care about money and all patches since 7.9 have shown just that.

Had the system been initially implemented like this, there would not probably be any huge uproar like this, but most would consider it as a normal part of the post-meta-game, accustomed to it. Maybe even think it being somewhat unique, interesting new way to do looting system, unlike in other games. which usually is good, why would people enjoy playing games that are clones of each other.

I must admit, that this change --if they really wanted to-- should have been done at the closed beta (or alpha) stage, to avoid drama caused by mathematical, logical and psychological unawareness.

But meh, not a big deal (personally). By the looks of it, my opinion seems to be definitely in minority.

Quick reminder on what you have been able to read from the developer Q&A:

“Q: What will the crafting system be like?
A: Crafting will allow players to improve weapons and modules. Crafting components will be found in loot after battles and possibly you will be able to gain them from disassembling unneeded modules.”

One might assume (this is just me assuming, not confirmed information), that the new “items breaking on loot” -phenomenon could some day be related to this crafting system. “Oh I broke this greenie when looting… well no worries, I got this crafting component from it then instead!” (<- assumption, not a fact). I personally am not waiting for the crafting feature, I find it boring if it is done anything like in WoW.

+1 I quite agree.

Ever since 0.7.10 I have been posting on the boards trying to show them where they went wrong.

Back in 0.7.9 the game was awesome, players were talking about the game to all of their friends and inviting them in.

Even if they hadnt changed a single thing since then and not done any patches,_ _I firmly blelieve with all the new guys coming in from the steam release the game would have snowballed into a huge success by word-of-mouth propaganda alone.

Instead, few of the guys I play with these days recommend the game to their friends, and I personally have told my friends to stay clear of it until the devs realize their mistakes and start to actually listen to their community.

As is, every new coming patch makes me fear it might ruin the remaining fun in this game for me and finally make me stop playing it - who would recommend a game like that to their friends ?

I personally almost, almost bought 35$ worth of GS a week ago. And then I remembered: Next patch, things might never be the same. That premium T4 ship that had me drooling might suddenly change roles. Or it’s modules and stats might get nerfed into oblivion. Or the game might lose it’s entire playerbase and shut down, taking my monetary investment with it.

This is why I don’t pay money. Not because I don’t have money to spend, and not because I don’t want to spend money on entertainment. I don’t spend it because it’s not worth the risk.

People complained about the money at the end of the game so how do you fix the money reward? You give more opportunities to green and purple items and if they break guess what  Credits are what you receive.  I want I want I want MOAR MOAR MOAR is all i hear about the looting system.  If the loot breaks now people are not happy with the CREDITS that they get because they are so short sighted that they don’t see what they were complaining about a month ago. The lack of credits received after battle

This forum is becoming a spiral of memory loss and straight blind vision.

I get the feeling that when interceptors got nerfed into the ground, many fast ship flying pilots left. And now that slow ships are nerfed and fast are buffed, there aren’t many people who fly fast ships left.

So frigate flyer crowd’s whine, while much less loud then that of interceptor pilots back when they got nerfed into the ground, is more pronounced because there aren’t many interceptor pilots around telling them to “suck it up” as they got told by frigate pilots back then.

As a frigate pilot who wasn’t around at that point in time I can say with certainty that your lumping all frigate pilots into one group is hideously biased and prejudice.

No one should have to suffer through having their primary ships crippled from core gameplay changes. I fly frigates because I like the design of the frigates. Plus it is easier for me to earn a decent score by assisting my team with buffs.

I get the feeling that you don’t have any frigates in your hangar. If you did and you had attempted to fly them recently, you would have a better understanding of why this is such a big issue. This is more than just a nerf (which I might also point out that engies lost 2 turrets) this is like putting a semi-transparent bandana over frigate pilots’ eyes and asking them to ‘deal with it’.

And as a former mainly interceptor/fighter pilot who had to take all the “deal with it” crap (yes, there were memes, lots of memes) when ints were nerfed into the ground while frigates became the IDDQD+IDKFA ships, I can tell you that I’m merely returning the favor in a much less offensive way than the way it was originally delivered by the frigate pilots.

Notably I flew frigates extensively before and after the nerf but to me they were more of the “relax from all the tight flying” ships before they became OP. I just didn’t fly them exclusively except for the daft 0.8.0 patch which forced me to do so as other ships were junk tier for a while. I think you can still find my posts about gearing guard frigates from around 0.8.0 release on these forums if you were to look. I was a strong proponent of stabilized railguns which got quite a bit of resistance as many people preferred heavy guns instead.

There are few things in this patch I liked.  Camera…loot…and why the hell did you change/get rid viewing the ships slot layout and statistics in hanger.
