Tweak about +resist modules.

Here’s a small idea for some modules.

It’s for the +hull/shield resist for X seconds and why not also for the guard’s special.

The 2 survival modules should work like “Reduce the final damage incoming (after resistance is applied) by 42% for X seconds”.

So it’d work against the new guns, and have the same effect on resistance build than a HP build.

We can also think about guard’ special working the same way but for a specific damage type.

This kind of modules already exist due to the way resistance are calculated.

 

The Multiphase Adapter and the NanoCoating are doing exactly this. They are just mitiged by already applied resistance to prevent Overpowered things.

that be terrible idea, because currently flat resistance does not have same amount of dmg reduction depending on your current base resistances, if you create flat dmg reduction instead that will scale with higher resistances you have, the more effective that module becomes, forcing people into narrow builds to get most out of it.

 

There is no point of all these ideas to work around white dmg, because white dmg will not stay in the game.

I love the idea, but scaling damage reduction against resistances would make it OP. Howabout just straight-up making damage taken lesser? So instead of “+72pts of resistance to all types for x seconds.”, it will be “-35% to all incoming damage for x seconds.”
