Either make an ammo type called Transitional ammo that you can switch or give us more ammo types that can switch the damage type from say EM to Thermal or Kinetic.
Well but it doesn’t make sense that Halo does Kinetic damage you say? Pft, so? A lot of xxxx doesn’t makes sense. git over it LOLOLOL

No need to apologize man, I’ll take mine in gold! *insert some stupid smiley here*
You were able to do that on first versions of the game if im correct. I doubt they will get back to that xD
what about kinetic shells and the explosion was em?

Holy xxxx, I think you just solved the puzzle.

well you used to be able to equip two types of ammo and swap freely between them. I always had curved reflector and microwave lens so that i could blast shields on assault, then burn them up close. >:3c
Plasma gun on gunship: Melt shields with double deflector, finish them with kinetic damage ‘needle system’.
Or lasers: alternate your range/damage for maximum effectiveness with flat and curved reflector.
Heavy plasma cannon on inty: charge and switch to supernova deflector for bomb runs.
Goooood old times ”)

Yes, it was removed in 0.9 Patch. Switchers were: kinetic->thermal, EM->kinetic, thermal-> EM, but with heavily reduced damage. You would say it was a bane of Guards, but guards had no shield res malus and you could have easily over 100 with each, with 200 res Phase Shield on top.
When I read it I’m embarassed how unrealistic is it…

Cuz ppl are stoopid and complained about how complex this game is and how you need a rocket science degree to switch ammo and missile type. Heck even the missiles used to be limited and once you used up no more refills. Now everything is newb proof… or is it…

Mmm no, that was not the reason to remove it. With on the fly swap of ammo and missiles, every ship had the capability to adapt to any situation, which in result diminished the importance of specialization and any thought processes of defensive fitting in a hangar.
You had 4 ships so adaptation to a situation has to come through that, why even bother with 4 ships and all the fittings when all you can do is just take one ship that works at 100% in all situations?
Basically On the fly adaptation by changing equipment on a single ship was going against the design idea of Role diversity and purpose of those. Remember this just happened not long after the introduction of roles.

Are you implying that Tai’Kin works in 100% of situations?
