I was wondering if i was alone to think that prohibiting trade between players is a terrible idea for a supposed future “mmo”.
Firstly when i first tried this game, i was like “This game is awesome! Gameplay is just really great, i love it!”.
Now im thinking about quitting the game for several reasons.
1.) This fact we cant trade items between players just make them nearly worthless.
I mean what makes something worthing something in our society is the price people are ready to pay to get it, right?
Well, as no one can pay anything to get one of your items in starconflict, its worthing the “npc price” as soon as you get it.
Npc price = nothing.
2.) This subfaction reputation points changes that make the game clearly p2win.
3.) The fact that you MUST have players in your team that are terrible and squads are limited to 4. (Even if this could be solved in the future…)
And do not tell me the game is in beta, because what i see here, about the devs behaviour, is that “beta” is an excuse to try what they want about the f2p mechanics.

I disagree on this point. As stated by many, mkII are available for everybody and quite good already, military are easy to loot and quite the same as mkIII, and experimental, though rare, are even better.
Add to that the fact that modules don’t make a good pilot.
It’s not the same as before the patch, i agree.
But it’s clearly not pay2win. It’s pay2getaslightadvantage
Well TIII greens are nearly impossible to get, and there is a huge gap between mkII and III when you add all the the “+small percentage” on each mod.
The mods dont make a good pilot but all the good pilots would like to have good mods.
Moreover this topic is mainly about trade system.
And YES its pay to win, because when you got +X% stats on your character for money, any equally skilled pilot would win by paying.
If devs wanna do that, they should make a real mmo with a paying sub, with trade allowed and not screw people with the “free to play” advertisement, while its “free to be screwed”
To all the paying whiners, dont screw the game by asking for disadvantages to the non paying guys. Ask a real game with sub, or ask stickers dor your ships/faster progression. Other way its pointless to call that a free to play.
Since when “free to play” has meant there’s nothing to pay ? A game made by a company cannot be freeware. Devs must win money in some sort of manner. So yeah, paying must give you an advantage. In this game though, you’ll notice that premium items are not the best ones.
This system is a good one. It needs tweaking, but with this system you eventually will get this kind of hierarchy : casual < premium < grinders
IMHO, it’s the best. You can achieve better than premium players by playing a long time.
Again, this kind of logic can only apply to a long lasting game life. If you want to play casual and get the top vehicles instantly or in a few days, then this game is not for you. This is a game for grinding.

Honestly, Not only your player driven market is an awful idea, not only you used my beloved pay 2 win argument which is bull… , you also on top of that pulled data off your arse.
Difference between MkII and MkIII is +/- 7% usually, and to counter your highly subjective statements - I found more mililtary green T3 stuff in T2 (sic) games for last two days than I found any green items since I started playing.
Also, if you want to be heard and taken seriously I would really advise you to change your tone, young sir…

Not true at all, T3 green mods seem to be the most common mods in the whole frickin game as they are pretty much the only mods I seem to get from T2/T3 games for some reason.
I can’t even count the amount of green T3 modules that have dropped for me.
The player driven market i am talking about is used on many awesome games, and is part of their success. (Btw why would it be an awfull idea? Cause if you wanna just say “No”, thank’s to not polluting my thread)
What data are you talking about?
Cause if i well understand you’re telling me that +/- 7% difference on all mods is not huge gap between 2 equally skilled pilot?
About the T3 items, you were lucky, and im happy for you about that. But you can NOT get T3 items in pve mod compared to T2/T4 where you will be able to get at least one on each scenar.
T3 drops just sometimes randomly in pvp.
You sir are talking with your guts, could you use your brain please?
I agree with your idea, if not your finer points or justifications for it. It would be good to be able to trade modules between players, since I find plenty of stuff that I have no use for.
That said, I don’t think you should be able to “sell” modules. If you could only TRADE them for another module of equivalent Rarity and Tier, that would make sure people still had to do scenarios instead of just buying up farmed modules. No reason why you couldn’t hand a module off to your friends for free, but as long as there’s no money involved it’ll keep the system relatively clean.
2)3) These things already have their own topics for discussion.
An exchange system between players offers a great area for exploiting and bot farming and this is the main reason the trading system is not planned at this stage.

In my eyes a good free to play doesnt mean you have nothing to pay.
It means people can pay if they want to get quicker progression and/or some nice skins.
Doesnt mean getting +X% on your stats.
Atm if you want to get T3/T4 with decent stats you will have to farm during years or something like that. Im not against grinding, its just impossible now.

while it’s true that green T3-items are found pretty often, i personally usually only find modules i don’t need. so i still have to use MK2-items and HOPE that maybe, someday i’ll find enough green ones. but hey, i think i have one purple weapon-modifier besides the MK2-items on my frigate
Im also against the trading system, unless we get more prefixes and suffixes to the items. Then it could be necessary.
If theres trading, then the market is soon saturated with good items and pretty much everyone has what they need. It would be the new norm instead of an additional bonus of having a nice item. They’d have to drastically reduce drop rates.

That’s my two cents anyway…

You get constant T3 green xxxx from T2/T3 PVP and T2 PVE atleast.

Really?
Honestly the game requires a lot of management, i would be surprised if there is bots enough evolved to farm pve themselves.
Hmmmm… Actually indeed you can loot from pvp, so that could be a problem.
I hope you guys will think about it in the future (aabout how to implement trade), it means a lot for the social aspect of the game.
Btw, i dont understand how players can be against that. Is that people who already paid for full slots of gold items or what?
If its so, be happy, you would have an opportunity to spend your money in purple items instead of crap gold :p.
Im kidding, i understand better the problems to implement trade, free to play looks to be a pain to balance correctly, but still, what i said in the original post is till true.
For instance i got my second or third purple T2 item today, it was antimatter, which i already got so its useless to me while it should be cool to drop purple. The best use i can do with it, is reselling it for 26K to npcs. Woop woop.
Edit : Also about the T3 loots, stop saying that it loots always. Its wrong. While you can ALWAYS have T2/T4 in PVE, you will have SOMETIMES T3 items in T2 PVP, mays be T2 PVE, im not sure. Thats a big difference.
If you get good guys with you, its boring but fast.
To return to the main topic, can i have your T3 items? I got tons of T2 i can give you in exchange
Yes it only takes 5 minutes to do a T2 Scenario but that is propably why it’s so boring, just way too much repetition.
Not that I need anything much anymore anyway, I have all T2 and almost all T3 mods unlocked, mostly just after those Missile Defence Systems and stuff that isnt normaly available for T2.
