I am proposing a simple change for the owners of Top Secret Projects ships in Invasion mode only. Those ships are powerful and thus they should have some additional benefit.
Rank 16 Empire implant - Gives you rechargable fuel cells ability. I explained the ability itself in this thread.
Rank 16 Jericho implant - Gives you a free duplicator reconstruction option once, until you re-dock, if your ship gets destroyed.
Rank 17 Empire implant - gives you an ability to scan for blueprints without a spatial scanner on your CPU slot equipped (it still must be present in your armory)
Rank 17 Federation implant - Gives you an ability to stack the same items up to 3 times per 1 cargo slot. (applies only to any sort of ore and crystals present in your workshop as materials)
Rank 17 Jericho implant - Gives you an ability to respawn with all the cargo content, if your ship gets destroyed once, until you re-dock.
Rank 18 Empire implant - Gives you an ability, which permanently grants you 10 hull resistance. (only works in Invasion mode)
Rank 18 Federation implant - Gives you an ability, which permanently grants you 5 hull and shield resistance. (only works in Invasion mode)
Rank 18 Jericho implant - Gives you an ability, which permanently grants you 10 shield resistance. (only works in Invasion mode)

As you said they are powerful, why would they have additional benefits? They’re not even premium ships. They already have more hull and shield than normal ships, and you can make them the way you like, I think that’s more than enough for them to cost so many materials (not so many in fact if you play a little bit every day).

it is many if you do not enjoy doing the missions
but otherwise i agree.
my biggest problem with the suggestion is: even if those are just invasion related, once i got the spec ops ships, i am not really sure if i need all that. in fact, while i enjoy that there is a free roam mode, i dont want to be forced to play there.
they are supposed to be anti-aliens ships… i dont see how they are better at taking out aliens than other ships. althou i think that some of the implants might sadly benifit those who take the right for themself to be ‘theapesthatrusnanythingthatcandiefornorealreasonbananas’
otherwise, they are totaly invasion implants and sure seem nice

ps yes right now, these special ships arent exactly in everyone’s interest to fly, but lets gope rest of the ‘famiglia’ comes soon…or at least this year. (waiting for JLRF, tackler and command)
I think that the most balanced option would be to only allow one rank more for Top Secret Projects - implant rank 16 only or maybe rank 17 to have both boosters in effect, but that would only improve their stats and you’re against it.
Uh, well… I don’t think devs will implement new implants, but… Some of the implants would bring too many benefits to the invasion, the invasion has to be dangerous! (well, in some way)
I like this idea alot. These ships are a B*** to make and should have a bonus in invasion where you make them and not become OP in competitive gameplay.
Overall, a good idea. I would probably use Fed, Emp, Emp. This way I could have more cargo space, but I wouldn’t have to worry about moving my spatial scanner between ships, and since I have the Mjolnir, hull is my priority, so Fed/Jer don’t make to much sense.
