Currently, there are only corporation rankings and not player rankings. I think that allowing Tier specific ranking (e.g. the top players in each tier) it would increase player enthusiasm and give lower-tier players something to strive for other than getting to the next tier.
Also, if you held Tier specific tournaments (tournaments limited to teams composed of players in a given tier) it would allow lower tier players a chance in the tournaments.

Tier-specific tournaments / rankings would require Gaijin to fix their matchmaking so you can’t become the #1 player in a Tier by flying ships from the tier above… or taking your ships in the tier below to amass an epic score.
But they won’t give us locked tiers, so we can’t have the awesome benefits it would bring us. :sad:
