I understand the STARTER ship having no options, but the tier 1 ships that follow could use a little more customization to ease players in AND let them know that more is to come. IE 2 types of weapons, guided AND non guided missiles as options. It’s certainly not overwhelming and I think the non guided lockout at tier 1 is silly quite frankly. At tier 1 you already ease into the fact that different ships have their own modules, but on the rest there is nothing.
Really it boils down to I want tier 1 non guided missiles and think it’s a valid option at tier 1. Heck for frigates do something cool for newbs give em the octopus as an option or something. IDK I just feel the lack of customization progression on tier 1s past the initial ship really does give the wrong impression.
In theory, T1 players are learning to am their main guns. If they have to aim unguided missiles manually, they’d have to understand their speed and trajectory, and know what to expect of their target’s movement. That’s a high burden for a T1 player. T1 should be basics, learning the basics to understand the greater balance of ships and how the game works. The weapon choice sucks, and I think anyone here would look at the weapon choice and say it’s not great. But, T1 players should not be overwhelmed by balance decisions and customization. It doesn’t take a lot to get out of T1, so it makes sense to keep it as advanced training.

But non guided are better, it’s a way for them to see that hey there’s a tradeoff in this game where you can gain power in exchange for skill, it’s not hard to switch them. In fact I’d argue for a decent gamer that non guided are actually easier to hit with than guided. On top of that they have larger payloads and higher DPS It should be an option. Heck I’m over 50% win rate and had friends join the game and do better than me out the gate. It’s not hard to right click while already leading an enemy with something like railguns.
T1 is for learning the basic controls and battle tactics, while T2 offers different equipment.
Furthermore the gab between the ranks in T1 could get too big and fresh starting players would have it harder to get used to the game.
Don’t forget that you will progress to T2 very fast so T1 should not be too complex.
TBH I was waiting for this, old players still have non guided missiles at tier 1, and you’re right they are very powerful there. I do disagree with you in that I think they should be allowed at tier 1 but there is also the point that some players are using them at tier 1 while others can’t. Believe me though, no one more than me hates saying this cause I think playing without non guided missiles absolutely sucks! Which is why I want to see new players able to use them. TBH I think guided missiles in general suck as they are bad@targeting.
Also while posting this the enemy managed to setup camp on my spawn QQ remind me not to post while in realistic mode.
P.S. My sincere apologies to any old players if you lose your non guided missiles to this post its 100% not my intention and hope it doesn’t happen.

I am against any missiles in T1 (veterans or not, and if there are veterans who still have some sort of ammo that is not available to new players, these ammo shall be removed/refunded/pushed up by tier/ w.e.) IMHO ammo in t1 is bad because average life span of 90% of players is incredibly short comparing to other tiers, which would make unlimited missile spam even worse than in T2. To add to this new player will not be able to understand that there isn’t much wrong with full ammo refill upon death and will think that that game is forcing you to die and rewarding you for that, while it isn’t. T1 is extremely short, in a matter of hours you can reach T2 in multiple ship trees, and thats where you start seeing some sort customization
I’m a tier 3 player xKostyan anyways turnover rate is extreme, almost all my friends and clanmembers have made it to the second ship before quitting, not the second tier, the second SHIP. It may be “fast” for an older player, but for someone trying out the game the trip to tier 2 isn’t as “quick” as old players make it out to be since it’s them giving the game a chance and feeling if it’s for them or not. Players are going through basically 3 non customizable ships in a row, and IMO there’s no sense in that, when do they get given the credit that they have the ability to learn and adapt? When I started this game there was tons at tier 1, fine maybe it was a little much but I enjoyed it. Still if there were as little customization as there is currently at tier 1 I don’t think I would have made it out either.
TBH for me personally I miss the customization we used to have at tier 1…at tier 3…

It is not like while you are in T1 you can not see what is going on in t2 and up, it is a common sense to look at the ship trees and warehouse items divided by tier. So you are aware of possibilities and get an incentive to lvl up to see what’s out there. It is like in any other MMO you start up you got nothing, you play longer, lvlup, unlock stuff.
I see a lot of new players reaching t3 in a matter of 50-100 games (while i absolutely against rushing to t3 like this, fact is that reaching T2 is not long, as you say)
