@EphemeralBlue, yes you’re right, my comments are subjective but its unavoidable when describing personal likes & dislikes. Having played the much-more-twitchy (and sadly abandoned by its devs) Moon Breakers I can’t help but feeling uninspired by the relatively slow pace in Star Control - it just doesn’t give me the edge of the seat roller coaster thrills that I’ve become addicted to
I’m sure there’s other speed junkies like me who’d get into this game if it had that small, weak, nimble, fast and drifty class of ships in addition to the three existing ones. Nothing would need change for players who like the game as it is, but it’d open it up to a demographic that right now will fly an interceptor, yawn, and close the game. As an aside, I see no problem with tight turning making it feel like you’re not flying in space. All it needs is a light enough ship with strong directional thrusters … after all, Vipers turn on a dime in BSG.
Personally I don’t care whether an open universe with mining and trading are ever implemented. Speaking purely for myself, I’d play because I enjoyed the combat side of things … or if I didn’t, I wouldn’t. None of that other stuff would make it any more attractive - it strikes me as more the kind of thing that’d appeal to fans of classic RTS/RPG games, and there’s already plenty of competition in that sector of the market. There’s a great niche waiting for a top notch free to play space dogfighting game, and I do hope Star Conflict hits the mark.
I came across this game by pure chance, its not even listed on mmorpg.com yet!!
Being an EVE Online player THIS is exactly the kind of game I can enjoy, because EVE Online PVP is really just point and button mashing. I believe the Devs are doing a good job by keeping this game under the radar until all bugs have been worked out. There is still so much more which can be implemented before the product goes live.
Once Live I think the best bet would be a listing on all major MMO sites and perhaps inclusion on STEAM.
Love the game soo much fun. But there really isn’t enough EST time zone people on. When I get home from work there is 200 - 300 people online. So i never really get to play unless its the weekend at peak Russia time there is 1500 - 2200. Anyway we can make the North America population more aware of this game?
When there is +2000 players online it says the server is under heavy load and u need to wait for someone to log off. -_- at this rate we are never going to become big like DOTA2
And if you ask me, 2k population seems good enough for now, I just wish it was a stable 2k. Not this ‘peak hour’ stuff where you have to play around the population peaks,or be stuck in 10 minute queues when it bottoms out to 350.

thats because the game is made in russia, and the devs arent paying attention to the non-russian speakers. Some games,no matter where its made only have about a 10% difference from peak time to the lowest time, but here it is like 75% so i would say the problem is that the devs are not paying attention to other players, just russians
I’m going to start advertising this game on all my old game forums. free advertising for this game. how sweet is that. I’m going to do it in the off-topic sections of those forums so don’t worry.
I’m going to mention the site, how it is in Open Beta, why there is a low player count during some hours and how to counteract that with “any region” setting.
I’m also going to say how complex it gets when the game progresses. That way if anyone decides to come they won’t be easily turned away by the complexity. We also get the hard-core gamers to come.
