This game is inaccessible

I tried a few dozen battles with a friend of mine, since we are both fans of space sims and the concept of this game seemed promising…but we did not get very far.  The learning curve is too steep.  I do not mean the controls since they are very simple or the ship equipment.  Out of the 40 some games we played we lost about 30.   The players we were up against were much more experienced and their ship equipment seemed superior in every way.  Once a frigate killed with me 4 salvos from its rail gun, even after I used my hull repair.  I wonder if  this is because this game has a small but hardcore community?  It seems that new players like us just keep getting stomped.  Once I lost a match is 15 seconds after what seemed like a highly coordinated premade rushed in and killed our commander.

Those are mine two cents.  I don’t think I will be coming back to Star Conflict, but at least it’s nice that the game is free and I support that so I thought I would give some feedback to the devs.  Cheers.

any game has this problem…it was in CBT and it will be allways present: some players are expierenced and will easily kill you…try this game for a week and then reconsider your choice about leaving

I just got into the game yesterday and I have no idea what you’re talking about. Did you buy the DLC off of steam and then try to run a t3 ship with no modules on it or something? Were you playing with someone who had a t2 or higher ship on their line-up?

If yes to the latter question then…don’t do that. Whatever the highest tier ship you have in your line-up is is the tier you’ll be matched against. I call BS if you’re saying you’re in starter ships fighting against other starter ships and getting destroyed like that. Either that or maybe you’re terrible.

Just saying I’m not seeing a remote resemblance to what you’re talking about.

let’s say you fly two tier one ships and a tier 2 ship as a beginner

it would be unfair to let you fight against tier one players only, since tier 2 is simply superior to tier 1 (number of active slots, weapon modifier etc.)

though i acknowledge it is tough luck to fly against well trained and well equiped tier 2 pilots

I started like a day ago and I haven’t had any problems. Sure I was killed a few times after like 10 matches. but it didn’t take long for me to get the hang of it. If anything this game seemed really close to Eve Online in terms of how the stats were setup. so I guess I’m a little more advanced then a true nub.

Think of the game more of a rock, paper, scissors game then a flight sim.

The game really needs to explain stuff better, the tutorial is just a keybindings list really. Doesn’t explain the mechanics or anything. I know folks who thought ships could only shoot straight ahead for a while.

I tried a few dozen battles with a friend of mine, since we are both terrible at space sims and the concept of this game seemed terrifying …and we did not get very far.  The learning curve is too steep for us.  I do not mean the controls since they are very simple or the ship equipment.  Out of the 40 some games we played we lost about 30.   The players we were up against were average and their ship equipment was exactly the same as ours.  Once a frigate killed with me 4 salvos from its rail gun, even after I failed to notice I was the captain.  I wonder if  this is because this game has a small but physically and mentally capable community?  It seems that cowadoody players like us just keep getting stomped.  Once I lost a match is 15 seconds after what seemed like a highly noobish and lucky rush in and killed our commander.

Those are mine two cents.  I don’t think I will be coming back to Star Conflict, but at least it’s nice that the game is free and I support that so I thought I would give some feedback to the devs.  Cheers.

These are my first impressions. Come to think of it I don’t know why I left cowadoody in the first place, but at least I didn’t pay for this. I want to give a personal F-U to the devs. F***.
