Hi, all,
I really think we should make active attempts to populate the Star Conflict Subreddit at: http://www.reddit.com/r/StarConflict/ because it is getting close to dreadnought time and we should make SCon appear to have more players. The subreddit is slightly active, but with all of us posting pics, videos, ideas, etc, we can really pump it up. So take some time, and swing by the subreddit.
Also, I’ve started a series of topics there to help new players. These are the posts, so if you see any comments or questions there, let’s try to answer them.

If you don’t do anything with this post, at least go there and upvote it.
And for the love of all that is good and just in the world, go to Star Conflict in the Steam Store, write a review, and look at other reviews and either upvote or downvote them. People on reddit are noticing the user ratings from people who played the game players that ragequit before even 10 hrs of gameplay.
Best part of that subreddit, is that moderators abandoned the game years ago( i started this game while being in reddit corp :D) i mean can i wish for a better place to be?

I find it funny how most of the top reviews on Steam say that “admins are abusive”. I have never once noticed this in Star Conflict or on the forum, and I just have to wonder what game they have been playing…

Funny thing is that Error tried to contact one guy who posted a review some days ago saying the same, and he had no warning or ban on the star conflict account.
And the guy opened a post saying he was being “harassed” by Gaijin workers “again”!
Fortunately I’m not a mod and I just said what Error or Sephi couldn’t.
Funnier is that one of the more prominent negative reviews is from Jasan Quinn, who still plays and enjoys the game… but anyway…
It’s mostly players like this:
Those get reported multiple times, receive - for some absolutel unfathomable reason - temporary mutes (sometimes with, sometimes without warning), and then have to cry/post/review/whatever how “abusive” the evil russian xxxx admins of SC are, to dare infringing on their right to freedom of speech.
Main reason I generally switch to Japanese chat. No such crap.
One of the reasons I prefer to play during EU prime time and rarely during US XD that’s when the majority of these “discussions” happen, by my experience.

I have no idea where they get that notion; I mean I can’t believe it’s just those trolls who spam chat and get a temporary ban; at the same time then people complain report buttons are useless. people complain, because they can. sometimes I don’t even realize, if there was a valid complaint among the invalid ones, their complaint spam makes it invisible.
I whish there was more critics and less complaining.

Yeah, I saw that! And one other thing, it’s interesting when you sort reviews by most helpful and then by most recent. Just look at the differences in dates posted and trends to recommend or not. It’s way more positive now than it ever has been, and for good reason. This game is actually growing.

No kidding, man. I cannot believe that people believe admins go out of their way to piss off new players! Sure, some of the admins are a little young, but they are all respectful and considerate. Just not in the face of spam like that…
Also, I’d like to be a moderator of the subreddit. I am quite active there.
I find the mods to be slightly fickle in terms of things. i have seen people who were saying terrible things in chat who didn’t get a chat ban for a long time but when i said something perhaps a little off color, i have gotten chat bans. never more than an hour tho. cuz i’m a good boy.
Anyways, i think they do a good job.

Well the GMs cannot be online 24/7. But if someone get’s reported I think they are dealt with.

That actually brings up a good point. I wonder how many have been reported simply because someone did not like them and wanted them removed. Maybe out of spite. So it brings up the question, “Should we have requested punishment options when we report a player?” Like “Warning, 1 hr. ban, 2 hr ban, etc?”

No no, that’s up to the GMs to decide. They get the chat logs with each report, and it is their job to decide the punishment, if any.

You can’t unintentionally type. You just yell a swear word, not type it.
