Looks like an incredible and accurate review. I glanced at it briefly, but I’ll give a full read & comment on the website about specifics.
One of the most biased reviews i ever seen, by a clueless person on top of that = perfect.
I laughed.
One of the most biased reviews i ever seen,
At least I STATED it’d be biased and why. More than 90% of the biased reviews out there, bro.

so if everyone would jump from the bridge, you would too?

> other biased reviews don’t state bias.
> I do.
Yeah, I’m following their example by the book!
If anything, Oryngton’s review is more accurate than most others because he plays this game on a regular basis.
Every single review out there is biased because it is written by a human being. The only non-biased reviews are written by robots; which doesn’t happen because robots don’t have an opinion.
So lay off the accusations of bias, and recognize that he covers both positive and negative aspects of the game as someone who is deeply invested. It’s a review, which by its very nature is an opinion piece. You are free to disagree.

Truth be told, I hadn’t played the game since… May… -ish. Then I spent a month. A whole MONTH playing in all Tiers, all PvE maps and Invasion (which I hadn’t played, yet). And those are my conclusions.

That’s okay consider how long you been played this game as long as for now. this is a genius review i like reading it oryngton thanks for showing us and to error for allowed it.
again today i took a look around the reviews of this game these pass weeks again with most of the result of anti-intelligent people, as my thought as same as Soldiersfortune, we cannot blame them we all humans no matter how much we try to act like robots
You forgot Team Deathmatch in your list of PVP scenarios.
Otherwise awesome and very accurate game review! It is biased, but for the most part honest.
You stressed the awesomeness of this game, but pointed out it’s main flaws.
Personally I think you could have been a bit more positve on Invasion, talking about the wide variety of missions you can be given and the large number of secters, with almost no two maps looking the same. You could have talked about some of the mechanics such the police which helps protect law-abiding citizens and the slow moving cargo ships, maybe mentioned the odd unexpected visit to Unknown Space which even now, still scares the s*** out of me! XD
You could also have mentioned some of the upcoming plans l, such as dreadnoughts (while conserving your cynical tone as to whether we’ll ever see them :D)
You also made absolutely no mention of the corp system, which imo is one of the most important parts of the game. Indeed, had it not been for my corp I would never have continued to play this game for so long. I have even made friends thanks to it.
Finally, you could also have talked about the more competitive side of the game. Tournaments every now and then for example, as well as Sector Conquest which alows you to pick a side and fight for a faction.
There we go, these are the main points I would have added to your review (if you were not limited for space). Although like I say, I agree with almost everything you mention!
(I just realised the irony of reviewing your review)

It’s “Team Battle”, last I checked.
It’s a pseudo-sandbox, that it has npcs and missions is obvious. If it didn’t even had that, I’d have stated it, believe me.
I did mention Dreadnoughts, afaik. The fact that it’s been promised since… FOREVER and never been touched.
Corp system? Oh, you mean team cooperation and how the game is based (SUPPOSEDLY) off teamwork and how the current gameplay both promotes and hates it?
Tournaments in T3? That’s like claiming the game ENDS in T3. I left that out on purpose, for obvious reasons.
Oh, and the “Unknown Space” thing isn’t random, it’s tied to a daily mission.

Ok I don’t remember reading about dreadnoughts but I’ll take your word for it, I can’t be bothered reading again.
Had you played solo the whole time, would the game have been even half as fun? I still maintain it’s an essential aspect of the game, despite the devs’ failure to encourage squadplay.
Yeah good point about all tournaments being in t3. However it’s logical because not many people own fully kitted out t5 ships yet.
You get sent to Unknown Space randomly sometimes, without having the daily missions for it. Believe me there’s nothing more surprising than when you’re trying to jump from one sector to the next, just minding your own business, and you end up in a green world full of aliens trying to gobble up your ship!

Both. Solo and squad play. I never soloed SQ, though. Did not squad T4/5 since restarting, though.
I’d be ok with that. The Hunters are dumb and really easy to kill. It just takes time.
Hm, I cannot agree with all the flaws, some seem outdated, and maybe, they read a bit like you wanted it to be also a game critic; especially one read by the devs.
A bit sad, since the game could need some more positive reviews, or tutorials, with this kind of commitment
But you were honest about being biased.
I am not sure if the population is as dwindling as some state; before they put out station population, prime time numbers had actually risen from 2k to 3k pop; But the veteran population is going down faster, than it restacks, so it’s probably also the retention rate.
Otherwise really nice review. Interesting to read, pictures, a lot covered.
Biased, lots of wrong facts and some actual info here and there.
Well, I would complain, but in fact most game reviews are this way lately, so no complains here.

Then where are they? To the point where you have to wait 3-5 minutes for a T3 match? And a similar amount of time for a T5 4v4?
Biased, lots of wrong facts and some actual info here and there.
Oh, do go on.
Technically, I did the review for 1.0.5, which was a while ago, all things considered.
