i just think the maps are pretty big for the slow ships of the game and doesnt gives you a “faster” sensation

Currently it is not possible to set more than 700 speed because of the game engine.

Try flying a Recon and use the Microwarpdrive. That’ll give you a good sense of speed (and probably a Thud medal…).
