Tooltip: A heavy adaptation of the Phaser weapon type. This weapon has two firing modes. Pulling the trigger once causes a slow bolt of energy to form that explodes in a 450m radius of impact under 4500m away. Holding the trigger charges up an extremely fast and powerful electromagnetic bolt that explodes on impact under 10000m away.
This is my idea for a long-range frigate specialty weapon.
The slower charge is mainly used for taking out close-range targets or attackers. It is better for fast targets because it has a wide explosion radius.
The fast charge is meant for a main-weapon sniper type of weapon. It has a lower explosion radius meant to penetrate shields of destroyers. Upon charge, a blue laser is showed that is visible to all allies and enemies. It is only shown while the fast charge is being charged. Once fired it disappears before the next shot.
