T3.....is it broken ?

how do you get a nuke?

Get to T3.

Buy a Cov Ops.

Enjoy the nuke spam.

Dunno what you’re doing there. Katana S is one of my favorite ships right now. It’s fast, because I put lightweight hull Mk 3 in there, because who cares it’s a Jericho ship. No shields = death.

Digression: do you also use the power unit conduit? I’m too used to Fed ships, I’m having energy problems right now but I do want my Katana AE to be as fast as possible.

Got into T3 a while back… TBH I don’t quite see how it’s imbalanced. It feels like T2.

You… You know nothing about Commands, do you?

No. You can never have enough energy. Higher top speed doesn’t matter if you can’t use it.

My Katana generates 150 energy/s. Diffusion shield absorbs 10 damage per energy point. That means it just shrugs off 1500 DPS for 15 seconds. That’s just boss.

Right now I’m testing whether I like energy recuperation, more shield or em resist best for my 3rd passive.

Energy recup. I fit my Strong that way. EM/Therm and Energy Recuperation. 16% might not sound like a lot, but it’s an extra 16% damage you can take while the Diffusion Shield is on.

I fit my Commands solely for energy pooling. I currently have 1200+ energy on my Prometheus 2 (i xxxx refuse to call it X, that’s just xxxx), same on my Strong. And I feel like I can survive damn near anything. Well, except the MBBDs, that gun is just overpowered as all hell.

I can still survive 5 ships shooting at me long enough for help to arrive or me to find a nearby Engineer.

Bingo. I haven’t flown any command fighters above T1, and even then I probably clocked only 2 matches with them.

The closest approximation that I can think of are engies, seeing how they are the only other class with sustained aura buffs. I’m not sure how good the energy regeneration is for command fighters or how much energy they require, but I never had serious energy issues with my engies.

Are you sure it works that way? You aren’t actually taking damage, it just drains your capacitor. It’s hard to find out since the difference is so small.

I did notice that it’s perfect for running away. An occasional hit fills up the capacitor, so I can hit the afterburner, use speed buff and then still diffusion shield at some point if necessary.

While we’re at it, do shield resistances count for the diffusion shield?

Well, the absorption system for fighters converts the damage to additional energy. Does this stack, by any chance? You could make your command damn near impervious with it.

Energy is your lifeline on a Command Fighter. You can support from damn near anywhere in the map just by having the modules active 80% of the time (Valkyrie is to be used whenever you see a friendly group move up the field, the speed boost when friendlies are either trying to storm up the field or retreating). This means you’ll probably find yourself in relative open areas (to provide fire support, as well), meaning people will be targeting you, meaning you’re going to have the Diffusion Shield up at all times.

And I said it wrong on my last post, Energy Recuperation does NOT work whilst Diffusion Shield is up, however, so the point of having a large pool is so you can safely afterburn everywhere and get energy back before you use it. Imagine you’ve just been drained by an ECM. Not much point in using Diffusion Shield, there… So wait it out, try not to afterburn, either, so it recharges faster, then find a rock so you can break the Energy neut link (it works via LoS), then use the Shield and afterburn away.

Edit: Energy Recuperation USED to work with the Diffusion Shield, that’s why I still get it confused while writing.

(stuff about  diffusion shield )

Ah… I knew I was forgetting something.

I don’t think diffusion shield factors in resistances…

It doesn’t. It’s 0 across the board. The resists help you survive while it’s still reloading.

When did this change? Need linky to the info.

Pfffsh, I don’t know. Back when the ships were revamped to their current status. It didn’t last long, though. I know cause I was abusing the hell out of that, with 3 Recup Systems. My energy simply did not go down. At all.

Okay I going to ask the question hopefully one of hard core veterans in here would enlighten me though it may be more appropiate in another thread… as I have noticed that in T3 Looting I am seeing nothing but MK IV modules and weapons. I am Level 12 in Fed and slowing inching towrds 13. Is that one of the signs you progressed far enough in T3 you may see increasing number queue’s with T4 ships?

(I do have 2 T4 ships as I was not paying particular attention a couple of days ago and got click happy on picked the FED BLACK BOMBER) and they are never in hanger slots)

Of course I hate it when you get that TEASE of a Purple mods… and of course the chances are always stacked that you will not get them even with the 30%

Ships: T3 Fed Guard Feg Alligator 3/9 sysgen

T3 Imperial LRF Premium of course maxed

T3 Imperial Command maxed

T3 Fed Engineer maxed

other ships I use alot are my FED T3 Recon and Covrt\ops all which are maxed. All of the ships (Imperial, Jericho, FED) that I have in T3 are equiped with purple\blue\gold mods none are equiped with Mk1 gear.

EDIT: What ship are you flying?

All Rank 9, correct?

You’re getting matched into partly T4 matches. Probably. Which equals T4 loot. Guess that is one benefit of mixed Tiers: tries to set you up for the next one…

Fed Guard is R9, Fed Engi is R7/8. Fed Recon is R7, CovOps is R8/9.

Empire LRF is R9, Command is R8/9, Engineer is R9.

It’s MOSTLY an R9 setup. That does put you in T4 queues.

Which leads to me believe the mixed Tier mode in T3 may have an ocassional burp going the OTHER WAY as well.

I have a couple of queues which I noticed I was the single T3 in a lineup (both sides) made up of T1 and T2 ships ? Given if I am in T3 queues with occasional T4’s mixed in there I should not be LOW enough to be placed back into a T2 queue ?

Given the big difference in the ships ratings… even taking out pilot skill levels it was not a even battle. (going back down)

Energy recuperation from damage never worked with diffusion shield. Some people used to think it did. They were wrong.
