Another idea here :
The ability to pay decals or paintjob with the ship’s synergy.
The convertion rate could be something like 1M synergy per 100 GS needed.
Synergy is the amount of experience you have with any specific ship. It isn’t a currency.
It would be nice to be able to get premium stuff for free but decorations are soon going to be the only thing that premium currency relies on.
We should be able to use only Free Synergy as means to color our ships.
