Tooltip: Drops a mobile drone manufacturing plant in space. It releases 3 super small multipurpose drones upon activation and has multiple settings:
1: Attack : Tells the micro-drones to attack random targets within 3,000m of you. Drones fire at 60rpm and deal 950 Kinetic damage per hit. If left on attack mode for more than 10 seconds, each drone can start to fire one small thermal rocket every 10 seconds.
2: Defense : Tells the micro-drones to activate shielding systems and disable weapons. Shields absorb all damage in a 50m radius around the drones, and restore 100pts/s of nearest ally shield and hull per second per drone in a 750m radius around each drone.
3: Manufacture : Tells micro-drones to return to the hive and manufacture more drones. Once all active drones return to the hive, they add 1 extra drone to their swarm every 10 seconds for a maximum of 12 drones.
4: Countermeasures : Tells the drones to disable weapons and shielding to active countermeasures. Each drone can knock out 1 missile every 5 seconds in a 500m radius around them. Each drone blacks out enemy HUD systems if they come within 750m of them.
5: Scramble : After being in “Scramble” phase for 15 seconds, all active drones in the swarm de-sync from the hive and attack their own target. Hive then prepares a new swarm of micro-drones for 30 seconds.
-If the Hive is destroyed, it takes 45 seconds to be re-built.
-User can travel any distance from the Hive, but it just means that the micro-drones need to fly further before they become useful.
-Micro-drones cannot be locked on to in any phase.

The user needs to stay close to the battle station or else it self-destructs. This is not the case with the Hive. The Hive will stay active at any range, but going further away form it means that reinforcements are further away and take longer to move to you. Since the micro-drones only become fully active within 3,000m of the user, if the user is 6,000m away, then the drones need to travel 3,000m before they are useful.
Also since the micro-drones would be super hella small and weak, it makes sense that enemies cannot lock on to them for auto-aiming or missiles. That would render them useless.

Ah ok I thought the mini-drones were active around the hive - in this sense location of hive would define location of action
The mini-drones should be prone to lock on imho
