Suggestion to Torpedos - Disentegrate - Drones

The two abilltys (disentegrate and Torpedos) shud be changed sooner or later. Here is why…

I will start with the the general thing. Don’t make the abillity change the play style of the ship. Futhermore they are “Support” and their support stuff are usefull at the fight with your team mates, not at 120000m range. Futhermore, no other ship have that. An abillity shud be like any other, just a goodie to use when needed.

 

We need to get those 2 supports out of the tents and let others get the benefit of their auras.

Here are my suggestions to how to change them to a version that dosent make them campers anymore.

 


 

Disentegrate: Make it a weapon that shoot point out from the front of the ship, with a bigger beam, that goes trough ships, and it last like 3secs. Does higher damage, but does have like 60sec cooldown. That way can even use it at closer range. So to hit the target, you need to aim the ship at the target. But around same range, but slightly lower.

 


 

Torpedo: make it more like a rocket or with slight heat/lock system. (though with poor meanuverbillity) But does quite more damage to the singel ship it hits, and have smaller Area of Effect damage. With bigger cooldown, like 40sec

 


 

Drones: Mostly fíne, though it wud be great to give them a little more hull, so any missile doesent 1 hit them. And give them a slight range increase wud be great. (not to much though)

 


 

Last to Beacon captures, make the drone guards have more health, so any torpedo camper, dosent kill every drone with just one torpedo. (to easy)

changing the abilities i am all for especially since the disintegration is useless past t2.

 

however if the ability needs to be in line of power lvl with overcharge, camo, microwarp, etc. and they are 1 hit VERY hard to aim/use abilities with high cd’s then you do realise that when they hit they need to ± 1shot almost anything for such a trade off.

 

i personally don’t think thats the right way to go, i think adding additional support funktionality to the abilities would be much better.

I don’t like your suggestions about disin. and torpedoes. Also having torpedoes with lock on is a bad idea, if there was no team damage on them maybe but that’s not the way this game works. You will end up having much more team damage than there already is from Jericho pilots. It seems you dislike frigates more than anything in there current form. In Tech 3+ frigates mainly utilize heavy weapons, my close to 500dps heavy laser reaches out to 5000m.

 

Aside from the Federation frigate, which is a great brawler, frigates have the ability to be both short and long range. There is enough cover in the maps where it’s not really a problem to dodge their range and still move to objectives albeit not as direct a route. I would not want frigates turned into close to medium range brawlers only that just seems to take away from all ship types strategy.
