Suggestion Patch Notes 0.8.5

Nononono I mean as soon as you apply the debuffs with a Tackler the phase modulator and the Ion Emitter can get you out of it almost instantly.

I was just in a match against [nova](Because I see them every freaking battle because only sector conquest exists!) and their recon pilot was very sure to plant spy drones on me while I was carrying the bomb. Because of that I was unable to atleast do part of the way in stealth and wasn’t even to get even close to their beacon after I tried waiting out the spy drones only to get em on me again 5 seconds before they expired.

Also, are you freaking serious?! 4500m range on spy drones?! That is insanity! He didnt even get anywhere near me and I was perma spy-droned!

the range is fine, the scout shouldent need to suecide to scout. The duration is a little long, i would like to see a 50% reduction in both duration and cooldown (half cooldown)

Why none demands any changes in LRF?

I can. Make LR F key damage apply 10sec anti heal.

Star Conflict OBT v0.8.5

General Changes

Added a crafting and repair system.

  • Allows players to redeem broken items from unsuccessful looting attempts.
  • Uses grey loot as repair components.
  • Each broken item received will now display a small list which tells the player what items they must use to get the working item. It is randomly generated each time, but will conform to some set parameters
  • New storage tab: Broken Equipment
  • All broken items from failed looting attempts will now be stored here. They can be repaired by clicking on the repair label next to their name.
  • Grey loot will now also be stored in this warehouse tab, instead of being automatically sold.

I could see this bring more stabilized drops, so i like this.

Looting system tweaks.

  • Free looting chance increased to 15%
  • Added credit payment options. This allows you to give up a portion of your base match rewards to get a certain chance of receiving an item. These chances are as follows:
  • 40% of your match reward gives a 25% chance of receiving the item.
  • 60% of your match reward gives a 40% chance of receiving the item.
  • 80% of your match reward gives a 60% chance of receiving the item.
  • 100% of your match reward gives an 80% chance of receiving the item.
  • Gold Standard payment option chance increased to 80%
  • Failing a looting attempt will now yield a broken version of the item, which can be repaired via the new crafting system.

Dont like, maybe if it was reworked. It got 5 diffrent choices, Thats to much in my opinion and the percentages are not balanced. Lastly, dont make a lottery with over 50% win chance, if you lose, you will feel like you got ripped off.

Added a build exchange system.

  • Right clicking on a ship in your lineup will now have a new option appear: ‘share build with’
  • Clicking on this will bring up your friend list.
  • Upon selecting a friend, they will receive a notification in their mail.
  • Opening this will bring up a ‘blueprint’ of sorts which shows all modules, weapons and modifiers equipped and what ship it is.

Very VERY good, and i think this will be implemented because of error.

Matchmaking

Matchmaking has gone through a few tweaks, including the addition of non-mixed-tier matchmaking.

  • Two checkboxes added to the bottom left of the launch screen. One is labelled ‘MTM’ and the other ‘Realistic’. Both are off by default.
  • ‘MTM’ stands for Mixed-tier Matchmaking and will allow players to be grouped with players of different tiers depending on their skill level. Hence, a low-skill player will most likely not be matched with a player in the tier above. Disabling this option will place the player in matches against players of the same Tier. The game will use the highest Tier ship in the player’s lineup for matchmaking purposes.
  • ‘Realistic’ toggles whether or not the player wishes to be matched into realistic games.

A toggle for realistic is good, but even better would be a toggle for all modes, just add a small reward bonus (5,10,15%) for each box you check or all modes but one will become dead.

A button for mixed matchmaking should NEVER exist. Atleast not in this way. The only point with mixed matchmaking in the current system would be to shorten the queue times, And that should never be used unless the queue time would be to long otherwise. (I dont like the tier system at all, why do we even have more than one tier?)

Well, just to revive this: who would like to see what in the next patch based on this one?

I am reaching the point where I don’t know if I’ll waste any more time and money on this game, so I don’t much care either way…

I have no choice but to grind until I get everything to max, until then, I will play, but the devs have a limited time.

Same here sadly  I’m getting close to a burnout, I had hoped that todays patch would fix some things, or atleast try to fix…But no patch…at all…Kind of sad

There will be patches in the future, but we have our tournament at the weekend and we do not want to change too much content a few days before.

I understood as much thanks to the ~sweet roll delivery squad leader~ ( aka JPhack) so I can understand it then.

Tbh though, i bet most of you would be happy if I were to leave this forum so another (sometimes excessive) critic is gone :stuck_out_tongue: However, just like last time, I would burn out of the game, but not out of the forum  :bomber:

We do not want anyone to leave. Critic is always welcome as long as it stays constructive.

There will be more patches soon so please stay patient:)

We were told it was a big patch… I hope we are not disappointed…

“stay patient” is going to fall on deaf ears. Most of the critics spoke with their feet and quit long ago.

Unless 0.8.6 turns out to be “0.9.0” and totally overhauls the entire game system - removing grind, fixing the ship tree, fixing mixed tiers, slashing prices of paid-for equipment down to sensible levels, making DLC-only gear available to all players, adjusting income rates so that players can hit Tier 4 within a month, making Engineers playable again and nerfing ECM and CovOps… it won’t do xxxx. Dreadnoughts are not going to make your player base rise again; they won’t matter outside of T3 at best, and most of your prospective players are getting pissed off and leaving by Tier 2.

Also, would it have been so hard to tell us what was going to be in the patch on Thursday? Or even Today? Having four days to tell you where your patch is blatantly not going to work might give you time to fix it before launch, instead of having yet another week of “this patch sucks, why didn’t they see this coming?”

Because they are not EVE online’s devs and they haven’t yet had the bright idea to ask us for feedback.

If you look at EVE online “features and ideas” forum, coming changes get posted in there, With all information of what is gonna be changed. Then people are free to give feedback on it. devs respond on questions with info on why they did it that way and why they think it is a good idea. And they fix whatever is wrong BEFORE it hits.

Such a great idea… why haven’t the devs had that bright spark yet?

…making Engineers playable again…

Say what? I still find engies to be (one of) the most viable ship class out there in T3. Though I wish warpgate(GTFO of here card) had a bit lower cooldown.

People really need to start referencing to which tier they are talking about.  Jason is refering to Engineers in T2, not T3.  In T2 you’re lucky to even find 1 engineer on your team, which is sad because then theres no way to get any heals.   I would go engi myself in T2 but I am not masochistic and enjoy being blown to bits by a swarm of intercepters any time I go within 4,000m of the objective

I’m very often an engy, but I tend to stay back where my guns and my fields can be efficient. Anything that locks onto me, I swivel and kill as fast as I can, pop a drone to heal my shields and get me back into fighting form, then continue softening up targets.

Engineers - if you can play them without resprting to a tanking technique - can be incredibly useful.

I’d give it some time.  Things may never change that much, but this is still a beta after all.  And if T2 is getting so frustrating, you might want to start playing T3 again.

T2 is frustrating, but T3 is unplayable. The tournament is going to be the last time I fly T3 unless big changes happen.

I still have my engineers and they are almost as tanky as my guards even if they are not designed for tanking.

I still have my engineers and they are almost as tanky as my guards even if they are not designed for tanking.

As tanky? No. They have MORE tank. A LOT MORE. As in, a Jericho Guard is murdered by an Empire Engineer if they go 1v1, as I’ve done before, for testing purposes. The Engi was left at around 40% armor.

Now, I consider myself a fairly decent Guard pilot… But this is utter bullshit. How can a TANK not resist more than a healer?
